Why should Americans have to go to Canada for American drugs

These are drugs created right here in America using Government subsidies for research and development and yet they are exported and sold at a much lower price than here in America. Why is this the case? We should not ask for permission to re-import these life giving drugs, we should be demanding that we are served in an honorable way by our own pharmaceutical industry.
