why is it that CNN, MSNBC, are plugging home grown Canadian terror that might affect the states every hour on the hour yesterday and today.

Is Canada another target in the war on terror?

I guess your reliance on foreign oil would be solved if you invaded us.

It's creepy and bizarre! They might just be trying to cover for * and his stupid statement in the last debate that he had to make sure drugs coming into the US from Canada are safe. You know, talk up some sort of reason for them to be unsafe. As in, you know, terrorist ... Canadian terrorists? ... are tampering with drugs for old people ... much like the SNL skit for insurance against medicine-stealing robots... I don't know. I got nothing.

I think the US should think twice before messing with Canada. I've been to Canada. You guys are tough! :)

5. The new enemy, CANADA!

...see, Canadians won't raise our children, clean our pools and houses, or do our yard work. UNLESS WE FORCE THEM TO!!! And the French speaking ones will have their mouths washed out until they learn to speak good Texan! We want to own Canada, and since they are mostly nice and white, due to the fact that they don't get no Texas sun, they'll match our country club environment. And hell, we know we can beat them, it'll be a cakewalk, they'll greet us as liberators and toss flowers and sweets our way--and in case they don't, Kevlar vests and helmets do a fine job of protecting us from a bottle of Moosehead cracked over the skull.

But we need an excuse to go in there and protect those evil Canadians from themselves. Let's spread the word that Canada is not just a hotbed of beer, but a terra hotbed as well. Stand by to be subjugated!!!!

...about "Canadian Terror." Hell, I just heard one on CNN not two minutes ago. But I don't know why this is suddenly being talked up on the news networks. :shrug: October surprise? :tinfoilhat:

Personally, I think the current misadministration is looking for ways to punish Canada. Not just because Canada didn't join in on the "War on Terra", but because you all have the gall to show a (at least mostly) working health care system, lower drug costs, gay marriage rights, *and* relaxed attitudes on pot use. (at least in BC).

After all, it's hard to say "those things a) can't be done, or b) will lead to the downfall of Western Civilization", if our next-door neighbor is *doing* them and making them work. Especially since there's that lovely little delusion here in the US that Canada is basically either an suburb of the US, or will "eventually" come around and join the US. Which ignores the fact that many people in Canada don't *want* to be part of the US.

Then again, my girlfriend in Vancouver does joke that I'm one of "the few Yanks (she) knows with more than three brain cells". :-)
