Encounter with a freeper
I freeper friend of mine (yes I have friends that are righties) and me were talking about the mess in Iraq. He accused me of actually wanting things to go bad so chimpy will lose. I told him I would have much rather have everything bush said to have been true and Iraq to have been a huge succes then be in this mess. Then I really blew him away and told him if the above scenario were true I would even consider voting for Bush.

1. Freeps tend to confuse ...
"Predicting that things will go bad".
"Wanting things to go bad".

Cheers
Drifter

2. I get that crap all the time
"You want more deaths in Iraq so Bush will look bad!"

I always say, "I want the dying to stop. I don't care what it does to Bush's approval numbers."

I would never vote for Bush myself, though.

4. well the reasoning behind the last statement
was that if it were true Bush would be sane and compentent. I probably would still have voted Dem since I am a Dem.

5. Interesting conversation I had
I met a friend at a restaurant last night. I was wearing a Veteran for Kerry button. The guy at the next table began a conversation with us. He was a former marine who had been a conservative Republican all his life but now plans to vote for Kerry. He had been involved in missions in the Balkans and in Africa and was really well informed about military and foreign relations issues. He says that despite his objection to the current military campaign in Iraq, he'd vote for Bush if he'd have lived up to his liberator from oppression image by sending some troops into the Sudan to stop the genocide there. He pointed out that Bush claims to be this big Christian and yet when Christians are being slaughtered by Muslims in an oil-less African nation, he can't be bothered. That pretty much sums up this administration IMO.

6. Wow, I had no idea
That you were so powerful, mr_du04. You mean to tell me that, according to your friend, anything you want to happen does happen? Could you please want me to win the lottery? Will I have to actually buy a ticket or is your will sufficient to guarantee me winning the megabucks?

You know, it's a pure wonder to me that some folks' skulls don't cave in from the vacuum between their ears.
