I suggest an absolute boycott of any advertiser & all Sinclair affiliates.
I believe that we together with MoveOn and other organizations could garner atleast several million signatures and folks who can let the advertisers and Sinclair know that because of such actions they have lost us.

Meanwhile, I would love to see either F9/11 &/0r "Going Upriver" shown on one of the major networks....Lets all get into action and make this happen....

:kick:

3. Actions like boycotts tend not to work, and
the likelihood of getting their licenses pulled is nil.

But, if things continue down this road, some people might be tempted to treat Sinclair and their people the same way that Bruce Pierre and David Layne treated Alan Berg.

4. I had thought about
using my cable box to put a "block" on our NBC affiliate (Sinclair owned), but would that do anything to hurt them? We aren't a Nielsen family so would it even matter?

5. Boycotts can be effective. You have to let the advertisers know.
Call or send e-mails to the advertisers explaining why you will avoid buying the products advertised on Sinclair.

8. Exactly....
...as a former hi level manager with a large company that spends significant $$$ advertising, this stuff does matter to them....

6. Why don't we organize a 'night out'
Instead of being home when the show is on be at malls, grocery stores, schools, libraries...wherever we can be promoting the Kerry/Edwards ticket.

Or have F-911 watching parties that night.

7. I would think this move by Sinclair would piss off Advertisers
they paid for that time , and Sinclair has
probably broken several contracts by not
airing the comercials at the time and date
agreed to .

11. A question. Is email or snail mail more effective?
I remember reading that advertiser and programing directors pay more attention to snail mail. That may have changed since the anthrax attacks.
I tried to research this, but found little.
Does anyone have any recent information?

12. What should I do?
Our local Sinclair station is a CBS affiliate. I still want to watch Dan Rather though. I haven't watched the local evening news in ages because they have that idiot Mark Hyman editorial on. Do you think it's still ok to watch CBS news? I can do without everything else.

we need to get folks to volunteer to watch their newscasts for the next day or soo and make notes of their sponsors in each market-then we look up the contact info and share it here

it's only fair. if they're going to advertise with these fucks, they need to be held accountable.

i'm making a wv list even as we speak
