Kerry simply wants to restart direct talks with North Korea. Bush* ended them. Bush* will not talk with North Korea. Bush* wants other countries to do the talking. Bush* feels America is too good for direct talks with North Korea. Kerry believes all cards should be on the table. He believes the Chinese and the Japanese can be helpful but that we need to be the ones to do the talking as we are the ones who are so disturbed over the problems. By talking directly to North Korea we do not eliminate talks by other countries also. We can have all of it. We can encourage china and Russia and Japan and still do our own talking as well. That is what Kerry believes and I believe it is the wise course of action. How can we rely on other countries to do our talking for us especially when those countries are not necessarily on our side in many issues.
