There is more to it than this, but in the simplest terms, we are all much more organized and in contact today than we were 4 years ago.

Activism has been strongly boosted by the Net.

It is also forcing the media to pay more attention to truth, at least to some extent. Within an hour of Cheney lying about not meeting Edwards before, photos on blogs proved him wrong. More lies were then revealed, and by the next morning the media knew they could not simply replicate the lies and make them appear to be truths.

Communication is power.

we not only can collectively gather but have acess to information all over the globe, especially the editorials. to have pov from the rest of the world's thinkers is power beyond measure.
