:D

Here's why. I worked my ass off in the oil fields for 20 years with my dad who was a truly independent oilman & geologist. He didn't manage to hang on to much of the money he made (was making $10,000 a month back in the early 50s) and died in 1959 in a car crash but he did leave the family some overriding royalties in a field he developed in Illinois in the 40s. It's getting pretty much depleted but still produces a few thousand bbls a month (my share is just 1/32 of that) Every little bit helps. ;-)

more than a little bit! I am jealous. 200 barrles times 50 bucks is 100,000, divided my 32 is like 32 hundred. oomph.

4. I like it too, but just so the gas guzzlers pay the price
For some reason, $2/gallon was making the news a few months back. Now it's not even mentioned. Though even though the price per barrel has been increasing, the price at the pump doesn't seem to be rising correspondingly. Though I only buy gas once every 2 weeks, so I'm not too sure what it is since the $50+.

7. Look at the big picture
You may be making a few thousand extra per month, but the oil companies make a few extra hundreds of million per month. An increase in oil prices equates to a giant vacuum sucking money out of the average person and depositing it into the pockets of the wealthy. I would only like high oil prices if it was because of a tax that funneled money into alternative energy research.

8. Yes, do.
Might the higher cost of gasoline convince people to drive more fuel efficient vehicles?

10. Know how you feel. Own (with siblings) some poor bottom
land in the midwest with a half-dozen stripper wells that have been pumping for over 50 years. At $8 - $10 dollars a barrel that oil check didn't amount to much. What a change.

11. Well, I ain't got no oil wells and they...
don't trust me with scissors to clip my stock coupons, but I do smile when I think of Bush* making oil price promises back in 2000. I haven't seen any jawboning, have you? Can you say blowback?
