What is
the difference between the DNC and the DLC and their connection? or do they have a connection? I see DNC which I am familiar, but am not familiar with DLC.

Sorry if I sound stupid, but would like to know.

1. The DNC is the Dem. National Committee

The head of the party, in terms of non-elected officals. They raise most of the money for the party, and are the "brain trust" for the party. Terry McAulliffe (spelling?) is in charge.

The DLC, or Democratic Leadership Council, was formed by Al From sometime in the 1980's to pull the party rightward. This was after the Mondale debacle of 1984, I believe. Bill Clinton is a product of the DLC, I think, and they've been trumpeting that fact ever since, despite the massive losses DLC candidates and the party as a whole were saddled with in 1994.

Edit for clarity

2. So,
Does the DNC and the DLC work together or is the DLC something/people creating a separate democratic party? Maybe starting a third party?
