Gen McPeak? I don't know much about him
When I googled his name the links all seem to go to freeperville. Which means he must be good for the Dems.
Could someone enlighten me?
(He is going to be at a local coffee house with 3 widows who lost their husbands on 911)

1. All I know he's been speaking out about the war
I'd say DEFINITELY go see him.

And then report back. :-)

2. He was at our local Dem rally in the park last Fri. He was
great. My son has a "jam" band that played a concert around the appearance of the General and our Florida hero Pete Peterson. McPeak gave a great talk and the young guys in the band were very impressed with him and talked about him the next Sunday, remembered his name, etc.

3. Please go. He is brilliant.
You will not be disappointed.

This guy is a walking encyclopedia of what is wrong with the Bush administration's foreign policy and military decisions.

4. He was one of the 12 Generals that came out on stage at the DNC
in Boston to support Kerry. He made an immediate impact on me. It seemed clear to me just by the look on his face and his stature that this was a guy who took shit from no one and was/is a natural leader. I had no idea what his politics were at the time and only subsequently learned that he endorsed bush* in 2000, but now supports Kerry because he has an actual PLAN!!

In summary, if you get a chance to see him, do it, and be thankful he's on our side this time.

He's also been interviewed on AAR a couple of times and he's not just endorsing Kerry, he's out there bringing his experience to the campaign.

5. Saw him last Friday on our local news station, and was IMPRESSED!
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 12:04 PM by Kanary
He not only said the war was a blunder, he quoted chapter and verse.

If he has any say in it, * will be gone.

Kanary, who would crawl over broken glass to hear him speak in person!

6. So glad I went
There were 2 widows not three, but they were very good. Two of the three (2 widows and McPeak)voted for Bush the last time around and now they regret it and won't be making the same mistake again.
I had a difficult time hearing the one. But I did hear here make a slip by calling Cheney President Cheney. We determined it was a Freudian slip, it was quite humorous.

Gen. McPeak said he is a conservative but that Bush and Co. aren't conservatives.
