Has the US ever cut taxes in wartime?
Well today the Baby Bush signed tax cut number four into law. Reducing taxes in the middle of a two front war. I am wondering if the United States has ever in its history cut taxes during wartime. Off hand I can't seem to think of an occurrence. I wonder how so many of our fellow Americans would have managed on the home front during the Second World War when taxes were raised exponentially. There was no whining about high taxes back then. That was considered to be unpatriotic. Income taxes were instituted for the Civil War, WWI; a telephone tax was put in place for the Spanish American War; taxes were raised prior to the Korean War; LBJ instituted a surtax in 1968 to pay for the Vietnam War and the real President Bush raised taxes shortly before the first Persian Guld War (the one with a real coalition of the willing). Am I on the right track here?

1. According to Paul Krugman...
No civilization, going back to ancient Summeria, has ever lowered taxes in wartime

3. Soldiers need Tax money?
Hey, our troops asked to enlist. If they don't have enough ammunition or body armour it's not Repukes' fault.

After all, W lovers put those pretty ribbons on their cars which proves they really care!( They're cheaper than safe Humvees. yay! More soldiers' deaths mean more $$$$$$$$$$$$for me!!!!!!!!!!!)

sarcasm off...
