Email from soldier in Iraq
On another message board I post on, someone's brother is in Iraq and sent him this email about his day's events.

Hi Bro, if you were watching BBC you would have seen a burning suburban on Sadoun Street in Baghdad. We had a team head out of our compound and 2 car bombs detonated on both sides of the first vehicle out. One South African officer was killed in the initial blast. 3 S. Africans were wounded with 3 Chileans. 1 local Iraqi guard with them was also killed. Some pedestrians were also wounded in the blast. All of this happened in front of the Baghdad Hotel. It was a hectic morning around here. Other than that I am cool like Fonzy. Don't tell mom, she has rats.

He said this happened in the supposed "Green Zone." Guess Shrub was right; things are going great over there.

2. Soldier knew you could only see this on BBC, not Fox, ABC,CBS, etc.
Interesting, isn't it, that this soldier knew where the real news is broadcast. I was recently in the British Virgin Islands and the cable there caried BBC and also a pan-Europe network. I was stunned at the footage of massive out-of-control fires in the oil fields; and also of bombed out vehicles and houses. Daily occurrences in Iraq, but rarely seen on our cable channels in the US.
