1. No, but maybe to keep him from testifying to the Grand Jury
Or maybe someone pushed him. They used to break legs, but maybe it lookes better to break an old man's hip.

Sorry if I don't feel too compasionate, but he broke up a wmd sting op and we need to get to the bottom of it.

3. NeoCon Irony
was Novak insisting that it was CBS's duty to divulge the source of Dan Rather's documents. When called on his hypocracy it in the same interview, he grudgingly said that it was not the same situation.

He also gave Kerry a D on delivery in the debate last night. What debate was he watching?

2. Novak exposed an undercover CIA operative ...
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 09:55 PM by BattyDem
that's treason! I don't care about him or his hip - I hope he spends the rest of his life behind bars. There is no excuse for what he did. I firmly believe jounalists should expose corruption in government and that they have a right to protect their sources ... but not at the expense of National Security or the lives of our undercover agents. The man is a pig!

17. you know, there are two ways to read your post.
individually, and collectively.
had me confused.

Novak is an old tired fool. But, at his age (79?) a broken hip can be deadly. The lack of mobility, etc, can cause a cascade of other physical problems, And to look at him, he has high blood pressure, a weight problem and serious stress issues, Plame notwithstanding.

there are clear correlations between broken hips and death in people over 70.

5. It's not treason...
for Novak. It IS treason for someone in the Bush admistration to leak an undercover CIA operative to Novak. I'm somewhat surprised at the lack of outrage at this but we do have a Republican controlled Congress. Now if Clinton had outed a covert CIA operative...

9. We also have a GOP-controlled media
What surprises me is that democrats have let novak get away with what if not a crime, is certainly a huge ethical breach. They should be howling about this but in 14 months have done nothing.

11. I know it's technically not treason on a legal level for Novak ...
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 11:13 PM by BattyDem
but I do believe it's treason on a moral level. I don't care what your politics are ... how can ANY American reveal the name of an undercover CIA operative who specializes in WMDs, knowing full well that exposing the agent will put her life and the lives of all of her contacts in danger, as well as jeopardize our country's chances of tracking WMDs that could end up in the hands of terrorists or other enemies?

And people like him have the nerve to say that Kerry becoming President is a threat to our security! :eyes:

6. the Novak flower fund
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 10:25 PM by riverwalker
so far after passing the hat, there is two pennies, a melted Tums, a lintball, and a Michelob bottle cap.
On second thought, I'm giving away the pennies, Novak can have the rest.
