Freepers: It's Lehrer's Fault !!
talk about the party of Responsibility? LOL!!

Notice they never take responsibility for anything?? Last night the AWOL Prick kept hammering, "Well Kerry voted also for the war". Not once did the chimp take responsibility for his actions.

2. If it's all Lehrer's fault...
then how come he all but ignored Kerry's request to respond and let scrubbie give several 30-second personal diatribes?

10. Giving him rope...
Kerry played it cool and let smirky hang himself. I'm not known as a huge Kerry fan, but TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A DEMOCRAT, and our candidate did us PROUD. I am elated.

4. The 'Kerry voted for the war' thing
just pisses me off. Kerry did not vote for the war. No one did. There was to vote to go to war or not go to war.

5. It IS Lehrer's fault....He let John Kerry speak...
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 06:58 AM by OneTwentyoFive
Should have kept Kerry muzzled while Bush rambled on about World affairs and clearing brush at Crawford.

6. Ok, someone tell me HOW its his fault....
He is a moderator of a 'debate', not a member of the press corp interviewing them.

Bush fucked up, pure and simple.

13. See Post 5
That sums it up. The idiot bushbots would not have been happy unless Lehrer told Kerry to shut up 2 seconds into every response and then turned to Li'l Georgie and said "Mr. President, sir, your highness, would you like to tell the american people the REAL answer."

He didn't do that, so it just MUST be his fault.

8. Oh I love this one.
"One step further, as some have already stated, Kerry answered as if he had at least some inkling of what the questions were going to be--how else would he have be able to recite all those statistics (I wonder how accurate they are?) and to speak with such fervor (in comparison to his usual draw, of course); or, maybe he sniffed too many nailpolish fumes....."

How did he have all those statistics? Gee, because he is an intelligent, informed, well read man? It dosen't hurt that he knew the topic of the debate and prepared for a week before the event.

14. Also, The Statistics Are Out In The Public Domain
Anyone who's been paying attention knew EVERYTHING that Kerry said.

I didn't hear him say one thing i didn't already know. So, he wouldn't have needed any advance notice of the questions. He might not even have needed notes.

The stats he used were very public, very publicized, and well known by anyone who doesn't get their news on Fox and spend time on Free Republic.

Advanced notice, my foot! Morons!

but I remember a lot of liberals saying similar things in '00. For some reason I felt he did a better job this time than last time. However, it could be that Kerry himself didn't make silly mistakes that Gore made 4 years ago.

Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 07:53 AM by Quetzal
I find that Bullshit - Lehrer asked a question to Kerry similiar to the one that William Kristol of the Weekly Standard and Faux News suggested in his NY Times Op-Ed Piece.

You have said that we cannot cut and run from Iraq and that we could "realistically aim to bring all our troops home within the next four years." But if you now consider the war to have been a mistake, how could you, as president, "ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake''?

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/30/opinion/30kristol.html?oref=login

Although I don't think Lehrer is in the wrong on this one, there is no telling what the Freepers can do - especially since Congress controls the funding for PBS and due to their recent successes of taking down CBS.

18. I hadn't noticed that CBS had been taken down
When did that happen? CBS was alive and kicking last night, showing lots of split-screen shots of chimpy behaving like a spoiled child.

22. I was referring to the discrediting of the CBS Memos
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 09:40 AM by Quetzal
Not the entire network itself.

On Edit: I don't think Right wing bloggers would be able to take down Lehrer since so many of the influential ones agree that Bush did poorly. However, it wouldn't be hard for an irate Delay to pull some funding out of PBS's budget.

15. Does anyone have the stats
on how many times Lehrer let Bush have extra time and how many times he did this for Kerry? In my admittedly biased observation, it looked like he never turned down Bush's requests but did turn down some of Kerry's.

16. that is ok by me
Lehrer has a LOT to answer for with his shabby treatment of Gore in 2000. I was not happy he was chosen to moderate this one, but I am now.

Although the idea that it his fault is as stupid as a freeper high on oxycontin.

17. I never go there anymore - those people are crazy
And I think there are about five freepers in total, with multiple screen names.

Republicans are terrible blamers. Most of them have some kind of personality disorder that won't allow them to take responsibility for their actions.

But a few of them did call BS on the post and did state that Bush dropped the ball his own damn self.

20. Sorry dipshits, Lehrer wasn't the one blinking and chugging water
and hopping from foot to foot and leaning on the podium and saying "hard work" a dozen times and giving love to war widows and smirking and scribbling with a Sharpie and sniffling like a cokehead and saying "mexed missages" and confusing OBL and SH and etc. etc.

21. ROFLOL,you summed up Bush's entire 90 minutes in one sentence
I'm trying to find the entire video of the debate,I want to catch that SH/OBL guffaw once again.

Also on the water chugging,I swear there was one shot of Bush drinking from an empty glass. Need to find the video and look again.
