Debates made me think of the Bob Dylan song...
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 11:31 PM by hiphopnation23
"Pawn in their Game"

In no way do I absolve Mr. Bush for all of the international folly and lies in which he has partaken on the part of neo-conservative strategists and world-dominator's, but I felt tonight for the first time in a while that he really is just a simple, unintelligent pawn in the game of much more fierce and formidable powers. Where as before there was some question as to whether he "the man" was really a cognizant and willing participant in the global domination plans of Carlye, PNAC, and the neocon movement I now see him as a true simpleton caught in a game the magnitude of which his small brain cannot even begin to grasp.

For the first time in four years I am hopeful and optimistic about the future fate of the union and, in a small, perhaps short-sighted way, I feel sorry for the little chimp. Perhaps the sympathy is sorely misguided. He really should have just run out of the room tonight and caught the first flight back to Crawford with his family; it's what it seemed like he wanted to do at times. A child caught in a situation the magnitude of which he just learned this evening.

my drunken, post-debate $0.02 amongst many here right now. Cheers blokes. :toast:  :bounce:

1. He's been a willing pawn, though, and I believe he

saw how badly he was doing tonight, showing some intelligence.

2. I was listening to "It's allright ma, I'm only bleeding" earlier today
when this line stood out to me.

"Sometimes even the President of the United States has to stand naked".

We saw that tonight.

3. great song
so much Dylan pertains to the last four years. For the first time in four years tonight I was proud and happy and hopeful to look into the eyes of my children.

4. The line, it is drawn, the curse, it is cast--
The slow one will later be fast
And the present now will soon be the past
The order is rapidly fading
The first one now will later be last
For the times, they are a changing

True, dat!
