1. On Franken today
The dittohead tried to bring up a story about Kerry playing football at Harvard and turning orange so some such idiocy. He claimed all of talk radio was discussing it yesterday. He seemed to think he was being very clever, but both Franken and Lanpher just asked what in hell he was talking about.

10. OK, so Kerry and Bush have both been outside
in the sun on the campaign trail. Kerry is darker and Bush isn't? That's easily explained by anyone who's grown up on a farm....

A pile of shit gets lighter when exposed to the sun.

3. I keep hearing about this "orange" makeup. Is it not possible that
Kerry got sun/wind burn while campaigning or windsurfing?

I used to be the cosmetic buyer for that tanning lotion, and even though they're better now than they used to be, EVERYONE knows they don't look too natural. Why should I believe Kerry would even consider using something like that?

4. Better orange than YELLOW
At least Kerry's tan will fade with time. The Bush/Cheney/Ashcroft chickenhawks are YELLOW through and through, and their cowardice, like their ugly, goes straight to the bone.

8. Jon Stewart even mentioned it last night on The Daily Show.
He didn't dwell on it but still bought into the story. :(

14. Please, it's Jon Stewart
Considering the "stupid voice" he put on when he said, "Hey man, why you so tan?", he was being ironic: he knew the Media and Repubs would focus on the tan and not what Kerry actually said.

He didn't "buy" into the story. That's like saying Colbert bought into the "Rathergate" BS, when he said that Rather, as "commander-in-chief" of the Evening News, should resign for using forged documents.

15. Of course he's joking but it still spreads the story
which is what this thread was about.

9. Kerry looks normal in interview done yesterday with Diane Sawyer!
ABC news yesterday evening and GMA this morning both showed parts of her interview with Kerry filmed just yesterday and he looks fine and totally normal. This 'tan' garbage cropped up on Drudge and has made the rounds with the RW idiots in the media like Carlson and even Chris Matthews continuing to spread these rumors to ridicule Kerry when he obviously looks totally normal as of yesterday.

11. RWers love to make fun of people with a different skin color
Why is that now considered cool?

(we gotta STOP being defensive about their childish bullshit and throw it back in their goddamned faces, people)

12. Funny...
all they have to focus on is superficiality and the past.

I want a president who can successfully navigate the turbulent waters of foreign affairs, not one who falls trying to go in a straight line.

13. I told my freeper pal
That I would gladly buy him a happy meal for all the childishness the Repugnants exhibit. The orange issue, the french looking issue, and the taking a long time for a campaign logo issue are just stupid. He pays for a fancy dinner with drinks, and I get him a happy meal for being a childlike idiot when it comes to the issues.

16. KERRY will be ORANGE tomorrow! Faux will see to it:
Faux will mann ALL cameras tomorrow!

The images broadcast during a debate are arguably more important than what is said.  And by being by chosen to man the pool camera for the first debate, FOX News will have entire control over what America sees and how they see it.
And, as if there were any question, FOX News is making clear they will take every opportunity to catch Kerry sweating or with a weird face when he isn't talking or anything unflattering anytime - even against the negotiated rules agreed to by the candidates.
As CNN reports:  "Because of journalistic standards, we're not going to follow outside restrictions," said Paul Schur, a spokesman for Fox News, which is manning the pool camera for the first debate Thursday in Miami, Florida."
