In a discussion of the "gender gap" in this year's presidential campaign, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter insulted the intelligence of her own gender, and then echoed Vice President Dick Cheney's claim that the wrong vote in November could mean death.

Assessing President George W. Bush's recent gains among female voters, according to some polls, Coulter remarked during an appearance on the September 23 edition of FOX News Channel's Hannity & Colmes: "I'm so pleased with my gender. We're not that bright."

OK, I wasn't that bright one day recently.

I followed a link to ONE of her hysterical rants just to see what all the fuss was about. BAM! I couldn't even read it. 10 and 12 pieces of that garbage coming over the transom every day. Fortunately, they responded very promptly to my request to unsubscribe.

oo, it's highly questionable to me whether words whose original and still current primary meaning (denotation) refer to women (and in a sexist way to boot) CAN be fully "degenderized." I don't think I'm alone in doubting whether ANYone can hear some male called a slut or ho without immediatel linking mentally that word to the primary meaning, which applies to women, however briefly.

Many, most, women, whether they are smart or not, work hard. They protect their families. They keep a job, paid or not. They want safety. They do not need littleboots to do it for them. They need to be paid some money commensurate with job responsibility with which to provide safety for their family. They would like to hope that their water is safe. They would like to know that the ground on which they live is not polluted so awfully.

They want good education for their children, and, Ann, this does not involve so much pencil and paper testing that the children cannot take a breath and do some art and sing music and play at least a drum and have some fun, for goodness sake.

There are smart women. Several, in fact. Not many appreciate you, and I'm sure it's mutual.

That I have never read any of her articles, nor seen her on TV. I accidentally heard her on the radio once, and I honestly thought it was a young, bow-tie type male college student who talked too fast, Spewing out verbage and calling it fact. She has the voice of those young men with hormone imbalances and undescended testicles.
