Well, I'm done with MSNBC
It's a sad parting, but necessary. The straw that broke the camel's back? A segment this morning on "faith and politics." Actually, I wasn't even watching... just listening from the other room.

They had a reporter (male), Falwell (representing the Bush camp) and and another man of faith (representing the Kerry camp). Roughly 75% of the segment was devoted to Falwell... the reporter started with him and ended with his comments as well.

During the course of the segment, Falwell brought up the Faith Based Initiative and the reporter didn't question it at all. (How we really don't know how much money has been distributed; however, we do know that the money has only gone to Christian and inter-faith groups -- even tho Jewish, Muslim and other faiths have applied for funds. Well documented by PBS)

The biggie, tho, came at the end of the interview. Falwell said (paraphrasing), "he (the other man of faith) brings up integrity in government after he let Bill Clinton in his pulpit." That was the end... didn't even allow time for the other fellow to answer the charges.

I swear, I had to walk into the other room and check to see if gremlins had put my television on Faux.

3. You Won't Miss It-I Haven't In Over a Month
It was an ugly realization for me that the "corporate media" actually likes the war agenda. MSNBC is of course owned by GE which is a war profiteer. I don't know the ways the other networks are connected to permanent war, but they all seem to support it. I don't watch anymore. Buh bye

5. All wars are about money
The armaments industry makes a fortune supplying arms to both sides. Then other industries step in to rebuild the devestated countries.

4. Give yourself a break from network/cable media.
It`s been over three weeks for me (a news junkie)and I feel great about it. Get your news from sources that won`t rile you. The crap on television is just that....crap.

6. I can't let go of MSNBC, as long as they've still got Keith Olbermann
on. Of course, he's the ONLY person that I can stand to watch on MSNBC. . . . well, KO and Ron Reagan (who they just HAVE to pair with that awful intern-killer Joe Scarborough.
