I missed it last Wed, and thought you might want to watch it too.

1. Focus group people
Always seem to end up voting Republican, and are usually the biggest morons on the planet.

2. So far, it's rather depressing, but
egads, C-SPAN 2 has John 'shitboat' O'Neil. Is anyone strong stomached enough to watch that?

3. Don't know why I'm watching
It's like nails on a chalk-board.

Focus groups test the success of perception management (psy-ops).

The Repukes are always the most affected. They really know their parts very well. It's like being in a Rush Limbaugh vomitorium.

5. Was that John the computer import guy?
He has orangey blonde hair and just expounded on how 9/11 crushed our financial markets, etc. and how we've totally bounced back...his portfolio is fine and his glass if half full. Where is this? I'd like to personally bitch slap that creep.

7. The press folks recap is interesting...

Joe Klein: The undecideds seem to be getting their info soley from negative ads.

How true. OMG, John Kerry has a lot of pressure to do well in the debates. They know almost nothing a about him. Nothing good at all.

Where have these people been hiding. Under rocks?

8. I was intrigued by that too.
I know this was just a very small group of people, but I don't think any of them were really undecided. That's why I think they don't know anything about Kerry...they don't want to know either.

I shouldn't watch these things. All they do is depress me.

9. I'm good and depressed...

they see Shrub as a 'leader' who might be leading us off the cliff, but they don't see Kerry at all, so they will go with the leader unenthusiastically. Ugh.

How much can one man possible do in a tightly restricted 90 minute debate? I'm afraid that JK will be put in a position to trying to be too many things to all poeple.

JK has been to Missouri 500 times and these people had to have read local new stories. I'm baffled.

10. Extremely depressing for people that hang around this board.
These people are so ill informed. They get all their information from campaign ads on TV and the Nightly News. They don't have a clue. Rove and Co. have done their work well. They have cowed the media. Another group at 6 PM in C-Span tomorrow from Columbus, OH. I don't think it will be any different.

11. That's the problem!!! Most people do get all their info from ads
and the BS that makes it into the news like the SVFT stuff. You have to remember, WE are the odd balls! Sure there's lot of people on Du and other sites like it, but we are sure not the majority!

I hate it, but I have to admit, the thing that works is the nasty negative ads, and who cares if they're true or not! You just put it out there and let the media fight over it! Dems are trying to be too nice! And maybe too fair too. When you're fighting the alligators, you gotta get in the damn swamp!

13. Interesting that invariably the most puffed up and
semmingly successful are the least informed. Mr. 'Smarty Pants' John K. on this panel was a good case in point. He had obviously scarfed up a whole bunch of negative stuff about Kerry (probably posted on his office walls) showed zero ability to think for himself and had the most chilling line. In response to the question, "what would you like to tell Bush"

answer: I'd tell him that he doesn't need to consider my opinion.

14. They wouldn't spend
a fortune on ads if they didn't work. These are business people. They're smart people. They know how to use the media.

16. Agreed! Then why haven't the Dems done the same thing?
I'm talking fighting in the swamp alongside the alligators! Fight the SVFT's with "My husband was eligible for a spot in the TANG, but Shrub took it, and my husband died in "Nam!"

OK, so maybe I'm a little over the top, but you get the point. They can't disprove my statement any more than we can disprove the SVFT's. I'm talking down and dirty the same as our opponents!

15. They Look For People w/ No Opinions
seemed they had no trouble finding them w/ this group.

Once I did a focus group, it was about this time in 2000 and I swear the ads they showed us could have been for Bush. But they were for Genetically Altered Foods - for a company like ADM.

I was the ONLY woman in the group who knew about GMO foods.

The guy finally quit calling on me - I was not what they came to hear. They rely on the 99% of these woman are totally "clueless" so they can sneek their frankenfoods in our food w/o notice.

When the TV spot made statements like "golden corn" could cure blindness, these ladies teared up!

Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 06:29 PM by doc03
these people don't know Kerry. No f---ing shit all these assholes
in the media talk about is the swift boat lies and the CBS documents.
The only time I have heard Kerry speak is in person in Steubenville, Ohio and on C-Span. All these idiots know is what they hear from Faux, Pillboy and Rove attack ads... Hell those assholes spent a week
talking about Teresa's "shove it" comment.
