Mark Crispin Miller and Michael Klare on radio at 7 pm EASTERN
It's your world. Understand it!

Sept. 26: Sunday Monitor

KPFT - Pacifica Radio
. . www.kpft.org - - listen online
. . . . or, in Houston, 90.1 FM

7 pm Eastern
6 pm Central
4 pm Pacific

<> ~ 6:05 pm GUEST 1: MARK CRISPIN MILLER

Mark Crispin Miller is a professor of media studies at New York University. He wrote The Bush Dyslexicon, and his new book is Cruel and Unusual: Bush/Cheney's New World Order.

Professor Miller fought hard to roll back the trend toward media consolidation at the FCC. He is also doing some performances around New York.

He argues that the Bush/Cheney administration is no more conservative than it is liberal. He accuses them of unprecedented lawlessness, bullying religiosity, reckless militarism, apocalyptic views of the economy and the planet, and a long campaign against American democracy.

<> GUEST 2 at about 6:25 pm : MICHAEL KLARE

http://evatt.labor.net.au/publications/papers/78.html

Michael T. Klare is director of the Five College Program in Peace and World Security Studies at Hampshire College in Amherst. Defense analyst for The Nation, he is the author of Resource Wars; Rogue States and Nuclear Outlaws; and Low Intensity Warfare. He lives in Northampton, Massachusetts.

His new book, BLOOD AND OIL: The Dangers and Consequences of America's Growing Petroleum Dependency is the fifth title in Metropolitan Books’ American Empire Project.

Klare recommends a new paradigm for how we use energy, and how we use the military to guard energy sources globally.
