A thought about polls. . .
One thing about the recent spate of polls that I've found curious is that while Bush's approval ratings, re-election numbers have gone DOWN and the doubts about the Iraqi invasion/occupation have gone UP, the numbers for those who think going to Iraq was the right thing to do has remained STEADY. I mean, it's so contradictory - don't want to re-elect Bush because he got us into this quagmire, but yeah, it was the right thing to do.

Is it that people are really starting to see the light about Bush and Iraq, but just can't admit they were wrong to support the war? They secretly know it was a huge mistake but go ahead and lie on that question?

Whatcha think? And what does it mean for our chances next election?

1. Hi eileen from OH!
I think it means that most people supported the idea of "Liberating Iraqi's" but that they never bought into a long bloody occupation. In fact, we (the nation) were told that we would be greeted as liberators and hailed as heroes by the citizens of Iraq. So right now a lot of folks are glad that Saddam is gone, but starting to wonder if maybe the cost was a lot higher than they thought it would be.

:hi:

2. The problem with polls is you have to see the entire poll
to see if it's leading or not. To see how the questions were asked and in what order. It's very easy to set up a poll to get a predetermined response.
