Is Gene Lyons endorsing Wesley Clark?

Lyons goes through all the Dem candidates and comes up with this as his final comment: A must read for DU'ers.

EXCERPT: Gene Lyons:http://moose-and-squirrel.com/GeneLyons/GeneLyons.html

Maybe that's why, as Amy Sullivan points out in the
September Washington Monthly (here) the number of
undecided Democratic voters has actually been rising in
recent months, and why, as she argues persuasively,
there's still time for Gen. Wesley Clark to win the nomination.

"Arguably," she writes "Clark matches each of the strengths
of the current crop of contenders, and then raises them one.
His Army background-stretching from Vietnam to
Kosovo-out-oomphs Kerry's military record. His service as
commander of NATO forces compares favorably to Dean's
executive experience as governor of a small New England
state. He adds gravitas to Edwards's aesthetic appeal,
charisma to Lieberman's thoughtfulness, and sincerity to
Gephardt's liberal policies."

If Clark runs, he can win. And unlike Bush, if he wins, he can
govern."

6. Does anyone agree with what he says about the "other" candidates?
If one reads the whole article....it's not a "pretty pix" ......and as a total fan of Lyons....this whole article begs me to go down to Little Rock, ARK, and challenge Lyons as to why he trashes all the Dems but Clark.......I expected better from him........ Am I supposed to just understand that his "old buddy" Wes... is running so Gene has to do a column supporting him or his arms and legs will be manacled in a vice? That Clark has enough power that he can have folks "drawn and quartered?"

Why Gene.........do you really believe Clark is the best person? Arkansas loyalty? NOOOOOOOO!

Why?
