Didn't Dan Rather use the term "unimpeachable source" ?

Can't recall if it was in the 60 Minutes piece or on CBS News, but I think I recall him saying that.

With everything else swirling around, that is the thing I keep coming back to.

1. What would be an "unimpeachable source" in this case
other than the person who actually wrote the memo or someone who watched him write it? I would think anyone involved with politics, or anyone else with strong political views may be considered reliable, but not unimpeachable.

2. Well, I don't really know about unimpeachable...
but the evidence behind them looks to be reliable enough to go ahead with it as fact. Dan Rather has asked the president to just address the questions raised in the interview at this point.

It's a solid argument. Why won't the president address the issue? Is it true? Is Karl Rove coming up with some way to spin all of this, or just figuring out how to deny it?

~A!

3. The reason * won't respond is to keep the "forgery" story alive
If he responds to the questions in the document, some may see this as an admission that the doc is real. He's getting too much good PR trying to play the "man who was wronged by dirty tricks" to want to give that up. Besides, the more time the press spends on crap like this, the less time they'll spend talking about his record on the issues.

5. My theory on this, and i cant believe it's gotten to the point that i
have one is, rove and co. figured that Faux, national review and the other liberal media would crush this story so they would never have to even address the content of the memos. I dont think they expected Rather to stand his ground so Rove hasn't scritpted out a response yet.

7. Impeach
1 a : to bring an accusation against b : to charge with a crime or misdemeanor; specifically : to charge (a public official) before a competent tribunal with misconduct in office

2 : to cast doubt on; especially : to challenge the credibility or validity of <impeach the testimony of a witness>

3 : to remove from office especially for misconduct

It means there is absolutely NO QUESTION to the docs authenticity.
