Could George Bush last another 4 years if he "wins" again?
He seems so close to cracking now, that I think he will flop his way out of the whitehouse somehow. If he does somehow manage to remain appointed by the courts, who thinks little George could make it through 4 more years. Personally, I think he wouldn't last. He might go out like Nixon, he might go out like Kennedy, he might go out like Caesar, he might go out like Mussolini(my personal hope), he might destroy the world, or he might find a new and oh so fucked up you could never imagine it way of not lasting 4 years(who could have predicted the pretzel?). Maybe he could visit alabama and get eaten by an escaped alligator? Assuming the worst, that he stays in office....who thinks he could last four more and who thinks he couldn't, and why on each? How does 4 more years of Bush go?

1. I can't help but think of Nixon. Wasn't long. Secrets come out eventually.

2. I don't
I think all the chickens will come home to roost in his next term and he could end up like Nixon. Plame indictments will probably come out next year, for example.

3. I would almost guess resignation or impeachment or in other
words some sort of an ending like Nixon.

5. I can't figure out why he wants to win.....
If he thinks the last four years have been bad, wait till he sees what we
have in store for him if he manages to weasel his way into another term.

6. One hopes 4 more won't come to pass
But, I agree. He's pretty nutso right now. Another four would do him in. A crash and burn situation, I think. And I don't thinkk even his cover-up boys could cover it up.

If he sneaks into the White House again, I can only hope that the dems carry the house and senate. In which case, we can help him out... literally.

Then again, maybe he will visit Florida once too often and hurricane Xena will get him.

7. BINGO!
It's hard to conceive of Bush lasting four years. If he wins, there will be a turnover in the Congress. Anti-Bush Republicans will run and win many of the primaries.

And then we will be primed for a REAL impeachment.

8. Well I read he said he will not lose.
It will take the country years to figure where the money went and who got it, that for sure.

9. I'm not 100% sure that he want to win.

He knows deep down that he's nothing but a phony who was put up for the job by puppetmasters. I don't think he's necessarily a happy camper, but he must go through the motions and yes, part of him loves the adulation of the cherry picked crowds, but the other part would like to be defeated. Defeated through as he would say, dirty Democratic political tricks. Then he can go back to being the mean, snotty complainer that is his true nature, albeit protected by the SS and coddled like a queen bee for the rest of his miserable life. an endless vacation wherein he can do whatever he pleases. Set 'em up Joe.

12. I agree. Only thing that makes him want to win is a bratty rich kid

attitude that he can't lose. It isn't about doing the best for our country. It is about not losing at something. His picture belongs next to egomaniac in the the dictionary. Along with Norm Coleman's.

10. In a way, it would be good to see him be impeached -
and be the first one to actually be convicted and removed. He deserves nothing less.

11. If not, that leaves us with Cheney (provided the ticker holds out)
which could conceivably be even worse! You cut of the head of one, and another more evil crops up in its place. They have to go down together for any real change to occur.

13. And it might be the neo cons plan. Set him up this term with impeachable
offenses to get Cheney in. Last election. Meet your new dictator.

15. You're right!
I get the impression that the PNAC'ers and the "Establishment" aren't exactly on the same page, and that Cheney would be more amenable to the PNAC agenda.

14. All depends on if Dems win back control of Congress.
If control of the House is turned over, he doesn't stand a chance. If control of the Senate turns over, he's going to have a very difficult time, but probably will survive, at least physically.

Remember, investigations, and impeachment must begin in the House.

16. Just like Nixon
his second term should he have one will be his undoing. I can't fathom that their hasn't been any investigations that have had a widespread effect on his presidency yet but if he steals this one again evryone I know that remembers Watergate and Nixon believes he will be impeached. Oh and you just know this son of a bitch won't resign either. He will ride his hubris till he gets a kick right out the WH door.

Reading that Kitty Kelly book and she sure does give you a good insight into the future of a second term for Bush.
