Joe Scarborough, Pat Buchanan, Bob Zellnick (ABC), trashing Rather/CBS
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 09:49 PM by KoKo01
along with Pat Buchanan, and Mike Barnacle. Saying Rather is finished, CBS is finished and it's all about CBS losing share and power in the news. Yucking it up and trashing in the most grotesque whore fest I've ever seen.

Where is the professionalism of journalists here? I know what they are up to, but they are so OTT in this puke fest that I think anyone watching it quickly turned it off. They are really reaching over the edge just like when the Repugs tried to shut down the Government when Gingrich was flying high. It backfired then and it will now.

You would never praise Buchanan for anything after seeing just 5 minutes of that whore fest. It was sickening. :puke:

I believe Rather and CBS will come through on this.

EDIT: It was Scarborough's show on MSNBC at 10:00 est...

3. Where was this outrage with Nofacts?
At least Barnacle admitted there is no liberal media conspiracy because they all hate each other. Like that wasn't obvious.

19. Orwellian Double-Standards are the Hallmark of Imperial Amerika
As it is with ALL Totalitarian Nations, or like here, a nation rapidly transitioning to it.

Imagine, if you will, a roundtable on Phillipino TV in 1983 with 4 Marcos Pravda Whores sitting around discussing Benino Aquino, the opposition leader.

It must have looked quite like what you saw.

15. thanks for posting the email addy..... here is what I wrote:
I am appalled to see several "journalists" trashing another journalist who is working hard to report what is happening in this country.

The highest level of patriotism is commitment to your country that results in seeking out the truth. A nation built on lies and coverups is built on sand.

Shame on you!!! Show your commitment to this country by practicing true investigative journalism!!

20. So, do something positive, and send an email
to:

joe@msnbc.com

And tell them exactly why you don't watch it anymore.

They need to start hearing a lot more negative feedback.

6. Howard ??whatever of CNN was really...
trashing Dan Rather. I hope Rather comes out fighting and the first person he punches is that idiot Howard...whatever his name is. Is that same Howard that got caught arranging media contracts for his republican wife. His wife is a bush supporter and journalist. They have no shame.

12. They are trying to politically tar and feather Rather out of a job
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 11:26 PM by Samantha
It was the most partisan attack I have seen thus far on the CBS documents. This "scandal" was gone from a discusion of "allegedly" forged documents to "apparently" forged documents. They compared this controversy to Watergate, and asked the question, "What did Rather know and when did he know it." One participant called for Rather's resignation.

I have participated in other threads about these documents, and I can't handle doing it again tonight. But I come back to the same question: where is the literal proof these documents were forged. I have heard all of the supposition, and there is no literal proof thus far.

The so-called document experts have no real expertise in this arena. We are not talking the gray area of intelligence; we are talking the legal rules of evidence. Where is the literal evidence these documents are forgeries. None has been presented thus far.

They want to know the identity of CBS' source. They need to know the identity of the source so the Republicans can take their usual punitive action; they want to know the source to find out what ELSE he or she might have that could hurt Bush*s campaign. And in that quest to learn the identity of the source, they also want to run Rather out of town. Rather gave the source a national voice.

As we know from others who have spoken out against Bush* one of the usual threats is that "you will never work again in this town." Evidently, that is the implied threat here to Dan Rather. Think Richard Clarke.

The discussion relating to a possible criminal prosecution and Congressional hearing was simply disgusting. When will we have that Congressional hearing on Fox News allowing Bush*s cousin to call the election for Bush* election night 2000. At the time he did so, he was on the telephone with Jeb. At that point, the election was too close to call. For some reason, when the discussion tonight turned to the subject of news affiliates influencing the outcome of a presidential election, this incident at Fox did not come up. Perhaps when the issue is raised again, we can insist that Fox be included.

13. That is why I never watch Scumborough
and his disarray of "guests."

Many on this board have praised Pat Buchanan because he can be clever and witty but he is a right-wing extremist who has his own agenda and even though he doesn't agree with everything Bush does, he's still a Republican, votes Republican, supports Republicans and is diametrically opposed to anything Democrat and to John Kerry.

I am surprised, a little, at Mike Barnacle but he likes to be one of the "gang" and he is very two-faced, just like Tweety. Joe Scumbag is just who he is, a nasty, no-talent jerk.

Dan Rather will endure longer than Scumbucket, Barnacle or Pat Pukecanan.

21. It makes sense to attack him
(for them) I mean he is their big competition right? All the cable people would love to see the mainstream (network) media discredited. I think they just want to eliminate their competition. It is logical but so sad.
