Wow! And Tom Didn’t Even Look Sickly Last Week


The Chamber of Commerce FAXed me the following invitation to the annual Salute to Fort Bend gala. This event honors an organization that betters the community. Last year it honored CORPS, a group that fixes-up low-income housing. No individual person has ever been honored.

This year’s award arrived as follows:


(notice states the the Scouting Programs were awarding DeLay the Golden Eagle Award)

You might be asking yourself, what is the Golden Eagle Award? Does it even exist? Why, yes it does. And you can win it too, if you meet one of the following qualifications:

(none of the Golden Eagle awards has anything to do with the Boy Scouts. and the Scouts don't even have the award. They have a Spirit of the Eagle award for dead scouts. DeLay is not dead.)

So, I did. For you people from foreign states, the George Foundation is a charitable organization that got raided by the Texas Attorney General back in the 1980’s for misusing funds. oddly enough, one of the law firms who had to return money to the George Foundation during the 1980s investigation was Vinson & Elkins, who is one of the sponsors of this event. Goodness sake, coincidences like this don't happen every day, you know.

Nobody can seem to tell me what the Golden Eagle Award is, who voted to give it to Tom DeLay, and who are the past recipients. Honey, they just made this stuff up. Heck, by the time we get to the gala, they may have changed it to the Giant Huevos Award. I mean, they may present Tom with a replica hot tub and the oars to a yacht in New York Harbor by September 17.

I’ve had plenty of Scouting parents contact me about this and they’re madder than a wet hen. However, they’re afraid to speak out because it might cause retribution against their child. Trust me, Tom DeLay knows this. He’s that slimy.
