George Bush MIA? Or in rehab clinic for children of wealthy...
I recall running across some information asserting that George Bush's missing time in the NG was spent surreptitiously in a drug and alcohol rehab clinic in North Carolina. This clinic, I believe it was stated, is incredibly expensive and is operated with the utmost of secrecy to protect the identity of its clientèle. In addition I seem to remember that this information mentioned that Babs payed the young prince a visit or two while he was there...which largely consisted of her yelling and screaming at him about what a loser he was and how he was endangering his future and the future of the family.

Does anyone else remember seeing this info any place? If so, I'd really appreciate a heads up. It sounds to me that something of this nature is probably responsible for the total black out of the wheres and whens of the boy king during the time he was bound by an oath he took to protect and serve his country.

1. Project PULL...In Houston
It's been on strings all over the place, and was first brought up in J. Hatfields "Fortunate Son" in 2000. If all the proof about the AWOL and TANG crap isn't sticking, this stuff doesn't stand a chance.

3. This Was 1972...Yes He Sure Was...Or Supposed To Be...
Sorry I'm too tired/lazy to find the string a bunch of us had here about two weeks ago, but we found a lot of the Hatfield stuff and how this is a strange little piece of Bushology...spending several months in 1972 at a Houston drug rehab, known as Operation PULL...as a "counselor". He never worked with that facility previously or since.

Google Operation PULL or check out Fortunate Son...that might be what you're looking for.

This was supposed to be during time time he not only blew his physical but also transfered to Alabama.

Until recently, I had no clue he was also supposed to serve while he was playing cheerleader and legacy at Yale (and didn't)...but I haven't seen anything mentioned about NC.

5. what you would need is
to find someone who would talk. There have to have been other patients, staff, family friends etc. Someone knows something and if you can get them to talk....the best bet would be staff--many have moved on (I am sure) and would probably love to cash in on their past--$$ fame for teling the truth about this.

What would the name of the facility be? I don't know the big ones (in North Carolina?

7. I'm looking into it now....

I seem to recall that the place I saw this info mentioned something about staff....that they were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement or something. One of them related the story to a friend in spite of the agreement and that was its origin.

The facility is not big....it is small, private, very secret and very high security....precisely to hide the excesses of the children of the rich and famous who are treated there.

8. I remember that, too
My recollection is it was an email sent to Atrios from a former staff member at the rehab. Atrios posted it on his blog and didn't seem to know what to make of it.
Maybe an email to Atrios or search of his blog can locate it.
Hope this helps.

9. Thanks my friend!
I'm gonna send him/her one. Just to save me a little time...do you by chance have the addy to his/her blog? PM me with it if you'd prefer not to post it.

For some reason this story has a ring of truth to it....I can't put my finger on why exactly...but it does.

10. It would probably be in the mountains in western NC
Maybe in the Asheville area. That's where the Vanderbilts built their vacation retreat the Biltmore House - enormous fairy tale castle with its own vineyard and village. Since great grand-daddies Bush and Walker ran with that late 19th century robber baron crowd, the Bush family might still have ties to the area.

Asheville is a nice place with lots of artists and craftspeople, and one of the center of liberal politics in NC.
