Perhaps I'm not filled in on this Stone thing enough....

But is anyone accusing him of pulling all this crap with the intent of it blowing up and making Dems look like scumbags? Or not?
Does his record show that he could be a GOP subversive?

Because if it does, then Rather is either the dumbest reporter alive, or he is lying to us and part of the problem.

1. He is a GOP subversive....
... and his record in that regard goes back to the Nixon administration.

He ran the "rioters" in the Florida recount debacle.

However, I am not convinced that he's the source, just on tangential evidence. He is, as a campaign manager, a competitor of Karl Rove, and while no one pinned down how it happened, Stone was outed as a swinger while he was espousing that Bob Dole emphasize "family values" in his 1996 campaign. That made him fairly radioactive in any future campaigns, and, from the record, he's not making much money these days as a campaign consultant.

Right now, there are only rumors that tie him to the CBS document mess. Those rumors could well have been planted by the original evil-dooers to throw everyone off the scent. That's my theory at present.

2. I agree, since the NYPost revealed him as a source. Weird.

3. Please don't get confused.
1) It doesn't matter if he was involved or not, although I'm sure he'd be greatful if people in our part are worried about wrongully accusing him just to stop a Rove attack.

2)They Post probably printed it becausethey are a bloid and this is sensational info. Even more likely is that Murdoch is rubbing our faces in it.
