BUSH LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH TO THE UN, RIGHT NOW.
Wow; he's addressing the UN. I guess he thinks this is going to make everybody forget that the US wiped their ass with the UN right before the invasion.

I wonder...is this guy running for President, or something?

3. Incredible disconnect continues
The media along with Bush will keep ignoring all the attacks that Annan made against recent US behavior. In addressing many roguish states each example practically had everyone turning to look at the US delegation.

None of that will ever see the light of day in our national consciousness. Nor will Bush's outrageous statements, empty promises(money? you must be kidding. They can't even come across for Florida without dragging their heels.)

Bush is a world leader all right. he exemplifies the worst of what Annan decried, deflecting humanity from its very life in a rush to the abyss via the tender mercies of glutted greed numbed elites. And Americans identify all this as part of their happy prosperous world which will be defended from terrorists by a whizzbang circus of chickenhawk liars with maudlin patriotism that misses every mark, traps every sucker.

4. Did you catch the part where he denounced
regimes that 'use torture and murder, and undermine rights'? That's YOU, jackass!

Just amazing.

5. He was all over the place
It was a campaign speech delivered in his best "High Noon" style. He brought up so many subjects I couldn't figure out what the core of his speech was supposed to be about.

It should make for good sound bites on TV tonight. Not that that was what he was trying to do. No siree.

8. About 3 seconds of polite applause.
It was clear that a few tried to make up for the absence of most.
