Email CBS.
Tell CBS that even if Dan Rather made a mistake, you still support him.

evening@cbsnews.com

Dan Rather is much better than most newscasters.

2. Already did.
Dear Mr. Rather,

I know there are many calling for your resignation right now. Let me be direct: if Donald Rumsfeld is allowed to keep
his job, then there is no reason you should be forced to give up yours.

5. If I knew some more information as to why a news veteran of
almost more years than I have lived would fall into an obvious trap a 12 year old could spot I might would do so but that is not the case. Is there more behind the scenes than we know, did Rather and CBS sellout? I want forget how they caved for the Reagan movie and apologized for the boob of ms Jackson and all in this year. CBS has to learn that if they don't want to stay in the fight and scrap quit starting them, just report the news.

6. I sent one hours ago. Dan's the man. He didn't admit the report was wrong-
he said the documents couldn't be confirmed.

There's a difference.

8. Your statement is correct
Here is the e-mail I sent:

Please, please make this very clear, that using these documents does not change the content of the story. I know in the information and entertainment industry there is an idea that everything needs to be perfect and todays audience demands it. The story itself is not wrong, just the part of where the documents came from. In the investigation, do please state where those documents did come from.

9. did this morning
He at least had the guts to challenge this "president" not just on being AWOL, but Abu Ghraib and others. If the rest of the media had just a fraction of his courage, we wouldn't be in the mess in Iraq. I complain about media whores, and when Rather kicks the pimp in the nuts, I have to support him.

16. Thank you. I absolutely agree
I think the world of Dan Rather. I used to work in the TV listings business and my main contact at CBS News was Dan Rather's publicist. Dan Rather is the last of the big three who insists on reporting hard news, rather than celebrity fluff. Greg Palast also admires him, calling him "a real journalist." His is the evening news that I watch and I am never disappointed. If he was fooled, it was inadvertent and a very good scam. He came to prominence after breaking the news of the Kennedy assassination.
