Washington, nor Allawi will admit that most of the insurgents are home grown; those who are fed up with our occupation which has failed to provide security for the country.

This allegation has been disproven by soldiers in the field time after time after time -- but in true Chimperial fashion, repetition is supposed to make it true.

Something interesting I heard last week -- after one of the horrific car bombings last week, a man in the crowd shouted that "These are the deeds of EVIL men!". I guess he's working for Bush, eh? In any case, he was jumped by the crowd, who was absolutely furious he could say something which seemed so idiotic to them. They went on to blame the American occupation for destablizing their country.

Allawi left Iraq in the early 70's has lived outside of the country for more than half his life and retains UK citizenship

Co-found the Iraqi National Accord -INA -(al-Wifaq) party, with the backing of the US Central Intelligence Agency and British intelligence

The INA supported the idea of fostering a coup from within the Iraqi army to overthrow Saddam Hussein, also carried out bombings in Saddam Hussein's Iraq (presumably we'd referred to those involved as "freedom fighters" not "insurgents")

He has extensive business dealings and has close relations with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The INA provided intelligence about alleged weapons of mass destruction to MI6 prior to the war (which turned out to be so thorogh and accurate).

Can't imagine why he is roundly considered a puppet and stooge.
