Question, I'm watching NOW 9/11 and a thought just hit me hard
The 7 minutes of Goat time * had in the classroom. He claims he didnt move or do anything because he didn't want to scare the children, is that right? OK, if this is true, then why did he give a press conference in that same room with those same children that he didnt want to scare? In front of those same kids he syas "2 aircraft just flew into the WTC in a terrorist act, America is under attack."

12. I wish some reporter would just ask him...
"Sir if you were so worried about scaring the children then why would you subject them to your press conference." Am i crazy here? Has any reporter or journalist addressed that point specifically?

7. No one ever asks him why. If he didnt want to scare the kids then he
wouldnt want to have a press conf of such magnitude about such a horrific and scary thing in from of the kids.

3. Did he give the press conference in the room?
Thought it was in the gym or something? Either way he is a failed leader and first class coward

8. Because he's slinging B.S., as usual,
and he thinks we're too stupid to notice. The fact is, he totally vapor-locked for 7 minutes, and you can see by his expression that he was absolutely panic-stricken. He had NO idea what to do, and nobody was telling him what to do. So he just sat there, probably wetting himself, and he had to come up with some excuse for why he just sat there. Children are always a good excuse. It just didn't occur to him (or KKKarl) that "not wanting to scare the children" doesn't fly when a few minutes later he stands in front of those same children and talks about America being under attack. What a pinhead.

11. But didn't he refer to the attackers as "folks" at that press conf?
That's such a warm and fuzzy word. I'm sure he used it to reassure the kids.

14. Seven minutes of goat stories prevent all children from being afraid.
Cheney read it to Bush before he had to face that class.

15. We've been saying that since the get go
He had no problem announcing the whole catastrophe to the whole room, including the children later, so it's all a big pile of shit, as usual.

16. Excellent point! I also like what Al Franken says about this...
Al often says something to this effect:

"Bush says he was trying to project strength and calm, but if I were a child in that classroom, the look on Bush's face would have scared the living daylights out of me."

On a tangent, I also like what Franken says *'s "Clear Skies Initiative" really means...that they're clearing the skies of birds.
