So, if Kerry wins, what do we do?
I figured it would be a good idea to balance out my other post.

My opinion: we can't just sit back and enjoy ourselves if Kerry is elected. The right wing machine will go into full smear mode and try to find a way to impeach him. If he's constantly covering his backside, he can't do anything to fix the problems * created.

So, what do we do?

1. start demanding investigations
Bush can pardon himself and the others, but he can't pardon himself in the Hague(I know I'm dreaming)

2. Breath a sigh of relief for a few months - then we can discuss this.
Just winning is good for his first six months IMHO.

3. we pressure Kerry to fix things W broke
If we keep pressure on Kerry to fix all the things W broke, it will be easier for him to do it, and he can ignore the right-wingers.

I think I remember JFK meeting with civil rights leaders, and he told them to keep them political pressure on him; it made it easier for him to help them. (my memory of the story is fuzzy)

There is a lot to do, W has done lots of damage.

7. Prepare for the "Hunting of the President - Part II"
It will make Clinton's experiences look like mince-meat (where does that expression come from?). They will start working in impeachment hearings before he is inaugurated - they have no morals or scruples!

10. we'll have the joyous work
of simultaneously protecting him from the right wing agenda while, for those on the left anyway, keeping on his ass about ours.

11. If Kerry wins
we have to IMMEDIATELY start campaigns to elect Senators and Congresscritters all over the country. Regain control of HOuse and Senate and THEN begin investigations of the Bushoid White House, the invasion, 9/11, all of it.

HOld Kerry's feet to the fire and make certain his administration ACTS instead of bullshits its way through "reconciliation" and "bi-partisanship"

Only a total asshole could possibly beleive this could be ended by simply electing Kerry to the White HOuse. The battle for the future of America will ONLY be beginning, not ending.

Do not be fooled, or lulled into complacency. The Bushoids and their cronies will still be working to undercut Kerry from day one. If they lose, they will jam as much of their agenda into operation as they can between Election Day and the Inaugeration.

And then will come the moves to impeach Kerry because of his antiwar testimony in the '70s. It will come as predicatably as the the Swift Boat Liars did.

We've only just begun.

13. We'll have gridlock
Unless the Dems take back the House or Senate nothing will happen. Repugs will fillibuster everything. THere will be no bipartisan support on anything Kerry does.

I find that just a bit better than the Dems rolling over and giving Bush everything he wants.
