MUST READ: Following the Killian Memos Money Trail
Edited on Sun Sep-12-04 07:37 AM by indyjones1938
Posted in GD04 as well, but I think this is really important and revealing.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. In cases like the Killian memos controversy, where you have a few vocal folks claiming that the memos are "fake" despite a preponderance of unimpeachable evidence that suggests otherwise, it's always fun to follow the money trail and see if these people (and their associates) are really as "unbiased" as they claim. So, with the help of www.opensecrets.org, www.intelius.com and www.ussearch.com, I did a little bit of digging on these colorful characters, and the results are interesting. Assumed close relatives are included.

Col Maurice Udell, TxANG (Ret.)

"I completely am disgusted with this (report) I saw on '60 Minutes,'" Udell said. "That's not true. I was there. I knew Jerry Killian. I went to Vietnam with Jerry Killian in 1968."

Gary Killian, son of Col. Jerry Killian

"It just wouldn't happen. The only thing that can happen when you keep secret files like that are bad things . . . No officer in his right mind would write a memo like that," said Gary Killian.

Maj. Gen. Bobby Hodges (Ret.), Arlington, TX

"Gen. Bobby W. Hodges told ABC News that he regards the documents as a computer "fraud," never saw them in the 1970s and didn't validate them for CBS."

But the real gem is this:

"John Kerry will destroy this country with his socialist views...John Kerry is as much a threat to the United States as Usama Bin Laden. He would sell his mothers gold for the power, and he has already communicated to Iran, France, Belgium and Germany that he will join hands with these cowards and walk away from this war on terror.

A vote for John Kerry is a vote for socialism and for the "French Candidate"

Amy Barnes Stites, daughter of Ben Barnes

"On Thursday, Mr. Barnes' daughter, Amy Barnes Stites, called WBAP, a Texas news talk radio station, to say her father had told her a different story in 2000. 'I love my father very much, but he's doing this for purely political reasons,' Mrs. Stites said. 'He is a big Kerry fund-raiser and he is writing a book also.'"

Sandra Ramsey Lines, document expert claiming forgery

"Sandra Ramsey Lines of Paradise Valley, Ariz., who examined the documents for the AP, said she was `virtually certain' they were generated by computer."

4. Thank you
Why can't the so-called news media do this? There is an obvious, organized program to smear every Dem candidate that comes down the pike, and cover-up any derogatory info about 'pukes. A simple thing like finding out who's getting money from who, using publicly available info, seems to be beyond their capacity.

5. I do not think the truth counts in this. It is what people wish to believe
Many Americans do not wish to think we lost that war so they re-do any history on it. Just like the Civil War we will be fighting it forever. It is like the wife that loves her husband and will not face the fact he cheats on her and beats her.Bush feeds that part of the pop. and tells them endlessly that every one is evil and they are good. Hard to beat that as every one wishes to think they are good and you are the evil one.Facing facts is not something we seem to do well.
