I have now heard separate references to them 2 times in 5 minutes.

truth - always

At least in the US Media

War Hero is evil

AWOL is hero

Compassion = tax cuts

less benefits = more "choice"

more pollution = greater cleanup

lack of collaborator's relationship with Osama means Terrorist sponsor against US.

2. Hot Topic On Imus As Well
Imus is claiming that the document appears to have been written on Microsoft Word, which proves beyond any doubt that it's bogus. All his toadies are chiming in that the whole story is just a sign of Dan Rather's desperation to save a tanking career and that he's probably finished for going after Bush's "reputation." Tom Brokaw has it all over Rather -- Brokaw's on the mountaintop (actual quote from Bernie).

Next week Don will probably have Rather back on and they'll be the best of buds, especially if the story gains traction. Used to like Imus. Now I can barely watch five minutes of him. I think MSNBC could do well to cut his show back by another hour.

4. "but the truth will prevail"
...despite the media. I'm coming to the conclusion that the worst thing to ever hit this democracy has been the cable news networks.

6. How long will it be until the truth prevails?
And how many will still be paying attention? This story is shaping up to be one of those whose lie grabs the headline, but whose retraction is burried in the funnies. If this isn't cleared up soon, I fear the ADD masses will have moved on, taking with them the false notion that the docs were fakes.

8. I was gonna make a post about the same thing...
WTF is with the media? If there's something negative about Bush, it gets a sideline story for a few hours then disappears. Once a negative story *might* *possibly* *perhaps* be false, it's frontline news on cnn.com.

Where's this liberal media I ekep hearing so much about?

10. Shouldn't CBS have it's own IBM experts they could use to verify this?
I'm hoping they will let all these "forgery stories" go over the airwaves and then bring on their "IBM Expert" who will save the day...

"hope springs eternal...."

13. I would think determining what kind of typewriter was used is very easy-
The keys used to strike the paper should easily have some identifiable difference between manufacturers and also a font if Word used.

If mechanical, faults for a particular letter or two would always be present, unless someone spent alot of time with Photoshop.

14. Just what is the argument here, anyway? The WH released the
damn documents, and they aren't disputing their authenticity. So even if the things were forgeries, they'd be White House forgeries. Seems like a stupid assertion all around.
