I'm sorry that the label 'whore' has such a common association with.. for lack of a better description- female prostitutes.

But that is not the context it is being used in this case.

Contrary to its most common use, the word (like many in the English language) has more than one meaning.

In this case the use of that word is not related to gender in ANY WAY.

If someone were to count them all up, there are probably more male shills in the US media than there are female shills.

I find the shilling of the US media reporters very offensive, and that probably plays a big part in why I am not offended by using that term to describe them.

Dennis Miller was very recently a Dem out of work, go watch 20 minutes of Dennis Millers new right-wing show and tell me that using the Webster's definition #3 does not apply.

because that's the original definition of the word. And it's simply not possible to escape that fact. The fact that it has evolved to sometimes mean a person of either sex who compromises their principles doesn't erase the original and far more commonplace definition and usage. Not too many people can hear or read the term "whore" without thinking, however briefly, of its original and more commonplace meaning -- which meaning is itself sexist. And THAT is why it continues to be a sexist term no matter how it's being used.
