Howie Carr: Boston blowhard

Without going into the circumstances, today I found myself in a situation that exposed me to the first hour of a talk-radio non-entity named Howie Carr. For the uninitiated, Howie Carr is a fourth-rate Limbaugh wannabe, which ought to tell you just how limp-dicked the man is. And his callers--all of them white, and all but one male--were even more pathetic, if you can believe that.

As I listened to this pitiful wretch and his human-waste audience, I did not become angry at them. You read that right--I did *not* become angry! Rather, I became enlightened vis-a-viz just how much the Republicans, in their attempt to discredit John Kerry, are grasping at straws.

Here's what I remember Carr and his dumbass listeners talking about:

1. The "phony" Brahman accent that Kerry "affected" when he testified before Congress in 1971.

2. A $300 bonus check that Kerry supposedly applied for and received from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for his Vietnam Service.

3. That John Kerry is a war criminal who should've turned himself in to the proper military authorities over what he said he did in Vietnam. One caller suggested that if Kerry got elected, perhaps the Republicans could impeach him over his "war crimes."

4. That Kerry's attack on Bush's National Guard "service" is an attack on every American who has ever served in the National Guard--whether or not those servicemen went AWOL, I guess.

5. Theresa Heinz Kerry's re-emergence in her husband's campaign. One caller claimed that Lady T is an alcoholic who temporarily vanished from the spotlight because she was in rehab.

6. Kerry's proposed Department of Wellness. The hilarious Mr. Carr mused, "Will Kerry's Department of Wellness have a Secretary of Wind Surfing?"

7. A caller claimed that he once saw John Kerry park an SUV in a handicapped space in Boston, and then emerge from the vehicle with a bag of golf clubs.

8. Finally, like a drunken relative who attends every family reunion and bitches about a perceived insult from 1978, Carr repeatedly bad-mouthed Michael Dukakis, the Democratic former governor of Massachusetts, who hasn't been politically viable since 1988.

It made for truly pathetic, desperate-sounding radio.

Carr and his audience of losers know full well that John Kerry is far more qualified to be president than their boy Georgie will ever be. They know that Kerry has a damned good chance of getting elected, and it scares the crap out of them. Like a cornered bobcat, these Bush-lovers won't go down without a fight. But you know what? They're going down anyway!

KERRY LANDSLIDE, BABY!!! :kick:

3. You sir, deserve a medal

Howie Carr - birthed from the shallow end of the gene pool.

I'm sure you noticed the very "literate" audience who converses with him - I mean, who else would??

Thank the stars for Sirius and AAR - I can't imagine ever having to listen to that dolt again.

"Eh Howie, how ya doin'"

4. Carr is an asshole.
Used to sub for Jerry <whatshisname? Williams?> on WRKO in the 80s.
I tune in when I'm in Boston just to see what the freepers are up to.

during my 15 years in Massachusetts, he was one of the few things that made the experience less than pleasant . . . don't know if he's still doing it, but he used to write for the Boston Herald, a right wing rag comparable to the NY Post . . . real scum sucker, that Howie . . .

6. Yes, I believe a caller mentioned Carr's Boston Herald column.
I see that piece of shit on the newsstands in the Hartford area. Wouldn't use it as toilet paper, let alone as a source of information!
