Weak, Weary Residents Worry Whats Next
How many hurricanes can Lee County residents withstand?

With a third hurricane potentially posing a threat yet again to S.W. Florida, weary residents are inhaling deeply and bracing for whatever comes even as we continue straighting up our lives after the destruction of hurricane Charley less than four weeks ago and shaking off the passing danger of a wet & windy francis.

"Lee County mental health counselors, themselves stressed from their own home and family worries as well as the long hours helping others, say it's important that people realize that it's normal to feel helpless and even depressed after getting hit over & over again by storms.

Susan Workman supervisor of supportive libving at the Ruth Cooper Center for behavioral health care, said Charley was a shock, Francis only exacerbated fears and the looming threat of Ivan is enough to send stable people into nervous fits of uncertainty." Source, Fort Myers News Press.

1. Ivan is up to a Cat 5--the most powerful Hurricane in the Atlantic in
over a decade. Destination? At this point--it would seem--Florida--again, taking the same path that Charley did.

2. Could it be divine punishment for electing * ?

Global warning climate changes? Who can say, but this looks like no fun to be had:

4. If it stays on track...

It looks like God is carving a giant peace symbol throughout the state of Florida.

on edit: just to be clear, I'm not in the least bit trying to make light of this hurricane season. My business partner's house and our Florida office is in Melbourne Beach which was ravaged by Francis. They were one of the lucky ones, they only lost their solar panels, fences and some roof tiles...however, some of their neighbors were not quite so lucky...

3. When I first saw this headline
I thought it was going to be about a town in Iraq that has been getting hammered by our military for a long time. Najaf or Fallujia or something.

So are Falwell and Robertson claiming the hurricanes in FLA are bible-god's wrath? Didn't FLA "go to" the idiot usurper in 2000 and his brother recently re-elected as Gov? haha I guess they won't be applying that reasoning to this string of disasters. FLA isn't a liberal enough state to draw that particular wrath I'd wager.

My best wishes to all in the horrible ordeal of this hurricane season. I would be at my wits' end for sure.

Julie
