They are not media whores...they are traitors to the people

I was just called on my words by my 17 year old. Calling someone a whore is an insult to all women. (Her words, not mine) The media folks who report biased news for the admin are not whores...they are traitors to the people who rely on a free press. I like it.

For background...my husband and I were expressing outrage about Candy Crowley. I called her a mediawhore and my daughters were outraged. I agree. It's just wrong to use those terms.

10. Whores/Gigalos

Is there a difference? Is a whore someone that sells or rents their body and provides sexual services or gives their sexual services for free? What about sex therapists? Are they whores?

Maybe enemy colaberators is a better discription? Selling or renting one's one's body or seling selling sexual services seems to me to be more honest than selling one's beliefs. If some of these so-called reporters don't believe the drivel that they are reporting in order to gain money & fame then are they not worse than someone that provides sesxual services &/or sells their body or rents it for a while?

12. I don't think the word is seen as demeaning to women in popular context

The gay male community, for instance, uses "whore" to describe a shamelessly oversexed guy. Whore can be a gigilo or a female prostittute. This is how I think of the term "media whore" being used in our parlaience: members of the media who shamelessly pander to one side for personal gain.
