Do the fledgling MSNBC groupies now see why some were cynical?
Hate to say I told you so, but....

As good as Olberman may be he doesn't make up for Scarborough or Tweety. And Tweety always has and always will be shitty. Sorry but throwing a few measly scraps every now and again doesn't deserve any kind of high praise. And now we all see what his response is when Dems send him thanks and kudos for speaking the truth.

1. Yep, he shows his true colors

All of them, except Keith have been real Rovelike.
They were just marking time until after the convention.
Then it was full speed smears ahead and polls that they invented.

Have you noticed, they all sound like Keith.

6. He hasn't seemed that great to me - what did he say now?
I checked him out, wasn't very impressed. Maybe I'm just jaded?

4. The ONLY reason Tweety "turned"...
...is that Michelle Malkin walked into his show with a giant bulls-eye painted on her back and he took the bait.

SHE wanted to be Ann Coulter. For 15 minutes, she WAS.

HE fell in love with the photos of George W. Bush on the deck of the USS Lincoln. Once he saw Bush in that outfit, he was a changed man. He waxed poetic over how rugged and manly "presidential" he was.

People thought he'd changed, he'd seen the light. Now that THAT nonsense is behind us, ON TO VICTORY!

:toast:

homosexual. What do you think?

17. I just think he has power / control issues
I don't attribute any of his behavior to his sexual preferences. He's got control issues on the show with the constant interruptions and such. I don't know if he would have treated Malkin or Laura Ingraham (during the RNC) differently if they were men. And regarding the "ladies like Bush because he's so presidential, they want a real man in the job," all that really tells me is that he wouldn't know a real man if he tripped over one.

The American people probably DO want a real man in the job. During the 2000-2004 presidency, they've had to do without one.

People on DU have commented regularly on Don Imus, specifically in regard to his desire to "play on the winning team." I think that sums up Tweety, too...Malkin challenged him, he didn't like it, and it brought out a side of him that under different circumstances could have made him a better person, but the lure of that flight suit was just too strong.

5. Does anyone see how entirely stupid it is to send a "thanks" to a reporter
who is supposed to be unbiased?

How stupid it is to think that a show should be consistenly biased toward your side?

These guys have moods like the rest of us and clearly there are extremely biased folks out there - If you can't deal with a day when tweety, Keith, Aaron and/or Lou Dobbs has a bad day, then don't watch the damn TV. I haven't been watching much since the Repulsive National Crapfest, but things are pretty much back to normal as far as I can tell - get over it.

7. Exactly my point...
I just don't get it. Why the hell should we thank someone for not being an asshole or simply pointing out the truth? Or as you said, for just having a good (or bad as it were) day. Is that what we've been reduced to?

9. Not only that, but it probably discourages them from being fair!
Remember the media is hyper sensitive to being labled as liberal. So for once the man does his job and treats an issue fairly, he immediately has a ton of feedback from liberals saying how great it is that he is sticking it to Bush, then the right calls it liberal bias, the mail just makes it seem more like liberal bias. Its not like the conservatives mail him every time he says something good for them.

you praise a reporter who is supposed to be unbiased.

You couldn't have more entirely missed my point.
And those were the "better" or less biased people that I am aware of. I like to hear both sides in a FAIR fight - it always makes me feel good because the good guys shine when given an opportunity, and liberals clearly stand for good.

10. I went through this with Tweety
at the time of the Iraq invasion. He really was speaking out critically about it in the run up and really had me fooled that he was one of the good guys. Then the statue comes down and he completely changes his tune and thinks the war is now great. Then there was his ooing and ahhing over the bulge in Chimpy's flight suit.:puke:

Have never been taken in by him again and never will.

I can and do appreciate the odd occasion when he smacks down a RWer, but I never take it as meaning that he's anything more than what he is, a cheap whore who occasionally has his moments.

15. Tweety throws the occasional liberal bone for the simple reason that
he wishes to appear to be objective.

It's simple: before Tweey starts a panel discussion, add up how many Rs are on the panel and how many non-Rs are on the panel. The guestlist is always stacked with Rs, so they not only hog the airtime, they gang up on and shout down the LW guests, often with Tweets acting as bemused enabler.

16. So true. Tonight, Tweety was saying Kerry

seems "like an automaton" and "isn't the kind of guy people like."

Journalistic objectivity, anyone?

Besides that, it's deja vu 2000, when they said Gore was "stiff" and "not the kind of guy you want to have a beer with." I'm sure they think it worked pretty well then (hard to say how many people's votes were swayed, of course) so why not use the same memes, slightly reworded.

:grr:

18. Whenever
someone retired military or such shows up that pushes the pentagon's preventive war stance, he isn't the same. Wonder if the press is being watched by those in power? Nothing would surprise me right now.

20. With Tweety...
You expect the worst and take the best whenever it shows up. He has his moments. You can't count on him, but you can't really count him out.

Do you think O'Reilly would ever have a substantive conversation w/ Rik Hertzberg?
