Janeane Garofalo just said that Bush caused the deaths of 80,000
women by cutting funds to worldwide family planning clinics.

That is a serious charge.

Is that accurate?

diamonds are a free ride for african terrorists, they have slaves mine them and they sell the for outrageous sums of money, they dont want corporations in there and they will fight (visciously) any corp that tries to take over

19. what about the oil?
I do believe a big part of the reason the *Bush WH doesn't want to really help the people of Africa when it comes to health care/AIDS is because the more Africans that die the easier it is for them to get their resources. Weak and dying people can't fight and Yes I do believe this WH is that cruel and stupid.

12. To think about how much we're spending on weapons
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 06:29 PM by theexpat
and how little we're spending on helping the rest of the world makes me sick. You win hearts and minds by helping people. You lose them when you drop bombs. I've heard a figure somewhere around 50 or 60 billion can provide clean drinking water for everyone in the world that doesn't have it. What better way of making everyone love us?

If we had avoided gulf war II, we could have paid for it and everyone would adore us. Sure, it's alot of money, but over a decade is it really THAT much?

More than 80,000 women die from unsafe and illegal abortions annually, according to the Center for Reproductive Law and Policy. The World Health Organization said that number could be as high as 400,000. 'If Bush's decision eliminates or weakens programs among the poorest, there will be more unplanned pregnancies, and in the real world more - not fewer - unsafe abortions,' according to the Pacific News Service."

18. If 80,000 women per year were dying from unsafe
abortions BEFORE Bush enacted the global gag rule, that doesn't indicate how many are dying from unsafe abortions now.
