The Russian MASSACRE...Where is it on the news?
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 01:35 PM by leftyandproud
Every damn network last night led with the hurricane story. Meanwhile, Russia's 9-11 gets buried 10 minutes into the broadcast. Islamic terrorists charge into a school screaming God is Great (Allah wah Akhbar--forgive the spelling)...They kill a few teachers right off the bat...shoot a few children trying to flee, and round the rest up in a small room. They then leave the school children in this room..with no food (or WATER!) for several days. Starved and parched of thirst, the young children are forced to watch several classmates shot in front of them. After forcing the kids to lay in human waste for several days next to their dead classmates, the so-called "rebels" ultimately shoot and blow up more than three-hundred of children with bombs.

They consider it a great victory for Islam.

This is what happened.

Did you know it?

Neither did I, until today.

5. It was covered PLENTY
every newspaper in the country...every network...even the cable networks

They all covered it.

Imagine if the elementary school up the street became a terrorist target.

Think that would make the news?

6. Russian state terrorism and US state terrorism have an understanding..
not to report on each others' terrorism. This bloodbath was avoidable, and putin is responsible, largely by his war of terrorism
against the peoples in the caucus. Our corporate media have been
silenced... and in return, the USA can torture and mass murder as
many iraqis as they wish with only passive russian complicity.

8. It was covered on CNN and the BBC
Those poor families and the surviving kids and teachers.

I hope that this isn't a precursor for what the whacko fundamentalist muslims have in store for this country. Then again (not to sound like a freeper, at least not in a bad way), muslim whacko terrorists haven't dealt with parents who have access to weapons the way americans do. If they pick the wrong school in the wrong community, they'll have to deal with armed parents who will not trust the government to get their kids back. This applies to rural freeper communities and to large, urban areas equally.

2. Same reason we never heard about terror until 9/11/2001
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 01:35 PM by ComerPerro
Most Americans (either because they are disinterested in world affairs or they are conservative and therefore don't give a shit about anyone) don't care about what happens in other countries.

When Clinton was discussing counter-terrorism in 1996 and 97, it was dismissed and laughed about by Republicans as a phony issue. No one really cared about all of the carnage going on in Northern Ireland or in Israel/Palastine.

And, there is a more sinister answer to this, as well...

Many FReeper types are glad to see bad things happen to Russia and France.

4. Where's Abu Ghraib on the news?
Christian terrorists rounded up a bunch of innocent people. Tortured them. Raped them. Beat them to death. And forced them via torture to convert to christianity. They considered it a great victory for Christianity.

This is what happened.

Did you know it?

I did. Several months ago.

7. I think the worst thing is the Administration
telling the Russians they have to negotiate with the terrorists!

That's about as insensitive a thing to say at this time that I can think of? Were we willing to negotiate after 9/11?

Just think of the horror of this situation. They targeted a school. They targeted children. I may get flamed for this but I wouldn't blame the Russians for stomping down hard on the Chechens.

of all time.

What we still don't know with any certainty is: Who did it and why.

11. Umm...
I saw intensive coverage of it. Even today, MSNBC was showing videotapes from inside the school.

I'm not sure what you expect, though. It's not "news" today. It was news a few days ago.
