Both Powell and Rice to resign before a possible second term.
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 12:02 AM by Melodybe
here is some trash I got from Newsmax. I knew that Powell was definitely leaving but I hadn't paid attention to Rice. Fun to see their little dream team breaking up. I'm also glad that Rumsfeld is such a disgrace, they won't even show him on Television.

Fuck'um, if there is a hell, they're all going.

here's a link to the Newsmax crap:

2. And all the Republicans are saying
that we can't replace Bush because we're in the middle of a war, and it would be too disruptive to aget new people in the places of Rice, Powell, Rumsfeld, etc. More flip flopping.

4. Rice is out of her league...
... and I think she knows it--she's shown signs of unraveling in the recent past. But, there's been some rumor of the Bushies shifting her over to head up State when Powell shuffles off-stage. I don't think she could pass that up. And it would put another manipulable hard-liner in State.

5. Powell
never should have gotten mixed up with this crew in the first place. That said, it's fightening to think of this happening should Bush steal the election again because I think Powell was one of the only semi sane adults in the WH.

7. I heard Powell interviewed for a John (CIA) King piece yesterday
He said the US had made a mistake inre: WMD in Iraq, but "we'll get over it."

The problem, asshole, is that the Iraqis aren't "getting over" thousands upon thousands of bombs dropped on top of them, not to mention the torture treatments, the doors kicked in and families harrassed/killed.

I hope never to see Powell's smug attitude on the TV again.

6. If there were to be a second term, who would replace them?
Not that there will be a second term. But if there were, Chimpy would have to find a couple more minority cabinet members so he could pretend he doesn't hate people of color.

Kissinger to head up the 9-11 Commission. The same one who brought Poindexter back into the fold. And Negroponte. And others.

This a tight-knit little group of fascists. They might insinuate a departure of some of the more infamous names- just to make the ticket seem more moderate. But even if those people *did* leave, they'd only be replaced with other old Reaganites. And their replacements would be carbon copies of their forerunners- or worse.
