Michael Moore on The Today Show
Michael was just on with that snipe Katie Couric. She called him a jerk, then said others, like Tim Russert thinks he will hurt John Kerry's chances. Michael took her insults in stride; I swear, the guy just laughs at these idiots. He talked about how McCain didn't reveal that he hasn't seen F9/11 until after his speech, to Russert. Michael said that the scene McCain was talking about was misrepresented. His intention was to put a human face on the Iraqi people.
Michael mentioned he will be on the Letterman show tonight.

1. Katie actually called him a jerk?
Now that is journalism at its finest.... oh wait i forgot we don't have any journalists left in this country or at least that are allowed on the big "media" stations.

But seriously please don't tell me she actually called him a jerk.

9. How do you convince a whitehouse reporter that you're not
slapping him in the face?

Tell him you're not.

7. The way she put it...
She said, "Some people say you're a jerk", then Michael said, "Do you think I'm a jerk?" Katie: "Some say(the ol''some say' line), like Tim Russert, that you hurt Kerry's chances....blah, blah, blah.."
Michael said he would join Dave tonight, and asked Katie if she would come with him. She popped off, "No, I have to rearrange my sock drawer".:eyes:

20. Ah, the old some people say trick..who are these people,
where are they and what exactly did they say, Katie and the rest of you faux reporters.

This is what happens when news is treated as entertainment.

4. Katie Seemed Nervous As A Cat....The Word Has Come Down ..
that she should not be seen as "too friendly" to Moore as the NBC Head Shed wouldn't like it....

She was colder than I've seen her but Moore killed...He destroyed John McCain's lies about a movie he has not seen yet feels free to criticize on national teevee. There is no way in hell that movie said Baghada was an "oasis of tranquility." What it did say was that we would be killing innocents as well as terrorists if we attacked Iraq unprovoked. Bush the frog-bomber, didn't care. He needed to show how tough he was in sending other's family members to die...

I'll be watching Letterman, as usual...

22. Was she the reporter Moore was going to "out" after the Dem convention?
In his speech at the Dem convention Moore said that he was giving the newswoman a week before outing her and the story about how she had gotten a call from the VP office about changing her tone when reporting.

6. There's no way she called him a jerk.
No way. She might have said "Some people say you're a jerk..." or something to that effect. I didn't see it, but I mean, come on....There are standards, even among repug journo-whores like Couric.

I'll wait for the transcript before passing judgement on this incident, though.

8. The 'Some say' TP
is the pug's way of getting the statement out there that that is the general feeling. When she said it, Michael asked her who thought he was a jerk. She dodged the question, said Timmy thought he was hurting Kerry. IMO, it's their way of getting their bias out there without really saying it is how they feel.

19. If you watch Outfoxed, you see that the "Some people" thing...
is a way to say what the reporter is thinking about the issue.

it's a ploy and really behind real journalism.

She had an opportunity to answer the question repeatedly.

16. Well of course she didn't answer
She's the one who's supposed to be asking the questions!

Besides, it has become standard journalistic practice to preface any nasty thing they want to say to a person with "Some people say." It's the equivalent of the South Park episode where hunters can blow any animal to Kingdom Come by shouting "He's coming right at us!" before pulling the trigger.

Moore, naturally, tried to stop Couric from this dishonest practice, but as a highly-paid and practiced media whore, Couric simply ignored the obvious question. She'd got to call her subject a jerk without actually saying it herself.

People see F-911 and come out asking, "why didn't Katie Couric show me that footage"? He makes them look like the whores they are.

18. For someone who practically
takes her pantyhose off for Hugh Grant or Colin Firth, Katie was surprisingly rude. Her refusal to acknowledge that she (even slightly) knows Moore smacked off Germany 1936.
With Moore it was all business - "I'm not here to answer questions" - while earlier in the show she inanely uttered "I LOVE shoes!!" and gushed about the upcoming wedding segment.
Some hardhitting journalist, that Katie.

23. Good grief. There's no reason to couch your criticism of her
in sexual terms. That's really ugly (not to mention sexist).
