"economic girliemen" insulted every man struggling to put food on a table
for their kids. Or can't stretch their paycheck for the new school shoes.

He was an insult to every working American who is stuck with the lower paying jobs of this Bush economy that rewards the haves with greater take home pay while punishing the working class with higher healthcare costs and higher costs of basic necessities like gas and heating.

What an ass.

10. Quotes from the groper's speech...
>>There is another way you can tell you're a Republican. You
>>have faith in free enterprise, faith in the resourcefulness
>of
>>the American people ...and faith in the U.S. economy. To
>>those critics who are so pessimistic about our economy, I
>say:
>>Don't be economic girlie men!
>>
>>The U.S. economy remains the envy of the world. We have the
>>highest economic growth of any of the world's major
>>industrialized nations. Don't you remember the pessimism of
>>twenty years ago - when the critics said Japan and Germany
>>were overtaking the U.S.? Ridiculous!
>>
>>Now they say India and China are overtaking us. Don't you
>>believe it! We may hit a few BUMPS -- but America always
>>moves ahead! That's what Americans do!
>>
>>We move prosperity ahead. We move freedom ahead. We move
>>people ahead. Under President Bush, and Vice President
>Cheney,
>>America's economy is moving ahead in spite of a recession
>they
>>inherited and in spite of the attack on our homeland.
>>
>>Now, the other party says there are two Americas. Don't..

24. If he hadn't made all those movies, he'd be about 10 minutes short
of things to say.

Except for gushing about coming to America, watching the election between Humphrey and Nixon in 1968 and being completely inspired and captivated by Nixon. SHEESH!

AND the delightful remark about how America is this wonderful country where it's not important who your parents are. (!!!!!!!!) Does he realize who's at the top of the ticket?

It was just one round of hilarity after another.

And I LOVE hearing about that magical, wonderful country where the government has accountability and what a dreamy ideal that is to have. I kept wondering what country he was talking about. Accountability????? THIS government???????? Think all that steroid use finally went to his upper head?

I also noticed that the scheduling engineers backstage thoughtfully made sure Jenna and Barbara didn't come onstage until der Gropenator had gone... probably a MOST fortunate thing. Arnold can get a little carried away sometimes.

4. Exactly
If that hasbeen weight lifter were here right now, this hasbeen martial artist would break his nose.

In the meantime, the Republican congress claims there is a critical shortage of high tech workers and wants to expand the H1-B visa program. In the meantime, I know dozens of skilled programmers with decades of experience going without work.

This is one "girlie man" Arnold had better not encounter face to face.

27. Replace "girlie men" . . .
. . . with 'faggot' and you'll understand where he's coming from. Basically, (according to the RNC) you're either with us or you're a commie pinko faggot terra'ist. These people make me sick. This whole convention has been a condescending disingenuous shell game. It'll catch up with them.

Seems to me every underemployed and those working class men who are struggling would find Arnold to be a real barrel of laughs.

15. Actually, as a woman, I find that statement particularly offensive....
Very sexist, like the saying "you cry/run like a girl"...

The thing that pisses and shocks me so much about him making this statement is that when he used it here in CA about a month ago against Democratic lawmakers during the budget process...he was pissed at them because they wouldn't budge and agree to some of his cuts to educational programs etc..after he called them "girlie men" women from all over the state expressed there upset and disgust...

The fact that after this he would still "choose" to make this statement again, not to mention at a nationally televised presentation, was a big "screw you" to women...what a sexist misogynist asshole....he really does represent the GOP afterall...

:wtf:

So, listen up everyone - all you unemployed folks especially - the outsourcing of jobs, unfair trade practices, out of control spending on the war in Iraq and growing Deficit has nothing to do with why you lost your job and can't find work...its because your a bunch of "girlie men" and don't work hard....

26. Not to mention, all you whining
girlie men, about the mess with the utility prices! Why, the manly men manage to make plenty of money from selling utilities! Lots of money, all my friends have it.

And you girly-girls. You must be the worst of the worst, being femalish on top of being actually female. The only reason you work and complain is because your girly-man can't put food on you. If he could then you would stop complaining and stop working. Like Maria.

And someday she will. But she had a lot of money to start with.

25. Tonight was "Compassion" night?
Over 50% of Americans think the economy is on the "wrong track" and he just mocked them.

I'm sure all the folks who are making less $ now than they were 4 years ago really appreciated that clever line, Arnold.

29. It's also typical Republican dismissal of inferiors
This is how Schwarzenegger will backfire in the long run: the appeal is that those who can't hack it are pathetic subhumans. Yeah, it's fun for people who like to hang with the cool people, but it's for people with no self esteem who want to delude themselves or other thugs who like revelling in the misfortune of others. It's classic bullying, and it's hollow.

At some point, the self-delusion that they depend on will crash with many people: folks don't want to admit that the failure they can no longer deny is because of their own defectiveness, and that will be the ruin of the tough-guys.
