Are *they* supposed to be doing this?
Just returned from the post office and set up directly in front of the entrance was a Bush/Cheney table. There was a jar with $$$ in it...obviously hoping for even MORE contributions. Is this sort of thing allowed? I never bothered to stop and chat.

1. What did it say?
You can't make political contributions that way. Could they have been raising for some charitable event? Or could it have been a con?

9. Didn't stop to look closely
All I saw was the table with B/C stickers all over it, a glass jar with $$$ in it, and two women sitting behind the table.

3. Please call in your state elections commission
If you can't find a listing for them, post your state and somebody here will help you.

Cornus. Cornus, cornu? Latin? Horn?

8. Cornus = Dogwood
It's the Latin term for the dogwood tree.

10. Thanks
I just remembered it from some Julius Caesar, when speaking of the "horn" of an army, etc.

Wasn't aware of the dogwood connection.

4. Nothing is surprising: the Federal government has been politicized
and the separation of church and state voided. Welcome to BushWorld.

5. Not on federal property. Call the authorities. Then call your local press.
All the Kerry/Edwards lawn signs being stolen around here made the local news last night.

6. exactly
I'm as postal worker. I do not think this is supposed to happen.

I NEVER see political material in my facility except as it relates to our union. And I work in a plant, and never see customers!

12. And while your at it, take all the AOL CD sign up disks in your PO
and sweep them into the fucking trash. That's what I do when I visit my PO and see all that shitty AOL promotional crap on the customer tables.
