Let's Clear this Up. MTV
I saw some posts here that people thought that the Kerry daughters were being booed on stage. You have to be kidding me right? the MTV generation is completely AntiShrub.

There were 3 reasons boos were going on.
1. They thought the Kerry daughters were the Shrub kids.
2. The Shrub kids were in the badckground and TV camera tricks were played on you.
3. They are so far left that even Kerry people are scorned.

1. Those are 3 guesses I take it?
I didn't TiVO it... did anyone else?

I thought they introduced the segment with bigscreen video of Bush and had Kerry walk out. The crowd saw the faces on the screen and took it to be the bodies on stage.

Booing commenced.

Which lead to retaliatory boos. And retaliatory cheers.

Did anyone else TiVO it?

2. No mistake here
The crowd booed most strongly on two occasions:

1) When Kerry's daughter's implored the crowd to "Vote for our Dad, John Kerry" (BIG boo swell, drowning out cheers.)

2) When the older daugther tried to "shush" the crowd.(Audible "Don't try to shut me up!" from in the audience.)

Audience reaction was inaudible when the Bush girls were on, as they went to direct feed.

I think they just didn't want direct politics inserted in their party. Indirect politics (Vote or Die) seemed ok.

Where the hell is Stipe when you need him?

3. Nope.
They didn't boo the Kerry daughters when they said that. Why are you saying that here? You're asking us to believe that the 20-somethings are pro-Bush? Yeah.. maybe in Oklahoma, but not at this event.

Of course.. like MOST events like the MTV awards, the audience is usually packed with "suits" from the music industry. A bunch of 20 and 30 something industry execs pulling down a couple hundred thou a year.. that buys some fine cocaine, an SUV, and an urge to vote for Bush.

4. This Incident Did Make For An Interesting Exchange On 'Talk Of Iowa'
(NPR local affiliate) this morning.

Dr. Politics (Schmidt) and Perkins (local NPR host) led off with a question on the 'Boo' (as to where this happened). Commentary that developed when the question was answered revolved around young people not supporting Kerry as advertised.

At the end of the show, a caller caught Schmidt in his disinformation. The caller asked him if he had watched the show, he said yes. The caller then asked about the Boosh twins video, and Schmidt had no idea about the video. Basically, the caller revealed Schmidt as picking up this event off a news feed, and then parroting the meesage of the feed that the Kerry daughters were booed. (Good job to whoever the caller was).

WOI, another NPR affiliate serving up Reichberry Kool-Aid, full strength.
