1. Union Square Park
(WAY WAY WAY WAY too small for this size crowd!)

3. Yep.
As I understand it, folks are just to disperse once the march is over. I think msnbc is monitoring things just in case there's an organized march to the park.

5. After Union Square they can go to Central Park
Edited on Sun Aug-29-04 02:22 PM by DoYouEverWonder
there just won't be any organized rallies. However, the report I heard was that after the parade, they would not try to stop people from going there.

6. are we still seeing new marchers ..or are we seeing the same people
over and over? it looks like fresh crowds keep coming...but I don't know the route so I wondered if they are circling around the bocks and coming back to the garden.

11. Conservatively I estimate about 500,000 so far have been ...
...parading in the front of of the Hotel Pennsylvania/Madison Square Gardens spot since before noon or about 4 hours so far. That's where C-Span has a stationary camera set up. They have been moving without interruption by that spot, 10 to 20 abreast at a pace that I would guess has been about three miles per hour going across the camera focus point. But if they have been moving faster and with greater density, that number could easily be double that or the 1 million as you say. But, it looks like it will be going on for several more hours.
