Tweety Has Coulter on tonight - Hope Conanson is noting
Edited on Mon Aug-25-03 02:05 PM by rmpalmer
Remember how he beat Conanson that Coulter wasn't on 8 times - like only once - Bullshit!

From Hardball email

Caddell's leading the show tonight!! That's reason enough to tune it but wait, there's more...He's all over the new Los Angeles Times poll showing Bustamante leading the pack at 35% and Arnold at 22%...Plus, only 50% support the recall while 45% do not...That's good news for Davis if he can bump that 45% higher...Plus, Simon's out which on first glance is good for Arnold but as our own David Shuster points out, that's actually troublesome for Arnold because it consolidates the conservative vote around McClintock, who's vowing that he's staying the course..

Caddell's buddy Ann Coulter joins us from The Hamptons...

In the B block we'll do Fineman on the latest Newsweek poll on Iraq and how the Bush administration is handling the continuing violence over there and political fallout thereof...

Here's our D block debate: U.S. Recruiting Hussein's Spies...Occupation Forces Hope Covert Campaign Will Help Identify Resistance (The Washington Post) http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A37331-2003Aug23.html Should we do this or not?

In the Buzz we've got Kellyanne Conway and Lawrence on the politics of Iraq and CA recall...

1. His exact words
MATTHEWS: Yes. By the way, there’s something inaccurate in her book. There is something inaccurate in her book, because you said that she was on my show, HARDBALL, eight times. I would be surprised if she was on once.

So he doesn't know if she was even on?

5. See if he corrects himself tonight
because Smokin' Joe was accurate (of course):

Not only did she appear on "Hardball" eight times between the publication date in June 2002 and the following January to help promote her book -- as the Nexis database clearly shows -- but she made three appearances within the first two weeks after "Slander's" publication. It's a subject to which I plan to return tomorrow. (And I understand that Coulter will be on "Hardball" tonight. I bet she's sorry she missed me last week. Well, maybe Chris has looked up the record, found that little "surprise," and will correct himself.)

(Don't forget that Smokin' Joe will be "Crossfire" TODAY, 4:30 Eastern with Al Franken co-hosting.)

8. Can we prove Chris wrong?
Edited on Mon Aug-25-03 02:36 PM by Hamlette
Simple google search shows multiple Coulter appearances.

Chris will say he was technically correct because Ann was not on his show to promote her book. Wanna bet?

6. Joe Was Right - Matthews Was Lying !

Coulter has been on Hardball 8 times since June of 2002, and you are telling
me matthews just forgot. Not hardly, he just did not want to admit he has had her
on 8 times in little over a year.

Here is what Matthews said on his show hardball, notice the typo, it says book
instead of book. Matthews was referring to joes book, the person who transcribed
the show put her book instead of your book.

Show: HARDBALL
Date: 08/22/03

MATTHEWS: Yes. By the way, there’s something inaccurate in her book. There is something
inaccurate in her book, because you said that she was on my show, HARDBALL, eight times.
I would be surprised if she was on once.
CONASON: No, that’s what Nexus shows, Chris. You’ll have to correct it with them.
MATTHEWS: No, no, no.
CONASON: That’s what it shows.
MATTHEWS: She’s not.
CONASON: That is what it shows. She’s been on your show - and you know.
MATTHEWS: Eight times? On one book - eight times on a book?

Now look at what joe said about it today in his journal.

Aug. 25, 2003 | For Chris Matthews, eight strikes

Last Friday evening, I made my second “Hardball” appearance in a single week to talk about my new book, “Big
Lies.” While I appreciated the invitation to return from host Chris Matthews, that segment -- which included a
right-wing radio talker named Dennis Prager who hasn’t read the book – got testy after Matthews challenged me
on an issue of fact.

He insisted that I was wrong to say that Ann Coulter had appeared on his show eight times to promote “Slander:
Liberal Lies About the American Right":

“By the way, there's something inaccurate in book. There is something inaccurate in book, because
you said that she was on my show, ‘Hardball,’ eight times. I would be surprised if she was on once.”

Not only did she appear on “Hardball” eight times between the publication date in June 2002 and the following
January to help promote her book – as the Nexis database clearly shows -- but she made three appearances
within the first two weeks after Slander’s publication. It’s a subject to which I plan to return tomorrow. (And I
understand that Coulter will be on Hardball tonight. I bet she’s sorry she missed me last week. Well, maybe Chris
has looked up the record, found that little “surprise,” and will correct himself.)
