My God I can't believe what Chris Mathews just said!!!!
He was awesome!!!!!

Questions to ask yourself if your undecided:
Do you want to be alone in the world, Blair will be gone pretty soon

Do you want to be behind in medical science advances

Do you want someone to be careful before sending us to war...

and much more

7. Coming Out
I think the media is finally realizing that this attack has been unfair, undignified and completely unworthy of airtime, and they are begining to make ammends. They see that the reputation of an American Hero and Patriot is being unfairly undermined and I think we may be begining to see a slight turn...not that they are all going to turn liberal, but I think they know the line was really crossed...Abrams said basically the same thing and went on to say that banning all 527's is unconstitutional and that only these ads are the problem. He said you cant tell groups like MADD not to air political ads, so you cant bad them, but they have to be truthful and trustworthy, and the facts are that their facts just dont check out...not with the Navy record, and not with their own statements.

but I doubt it.

I guess they don't realize how foolish they look to most people.

26. Well, they had a little help from me and millions of
others typing our little fingers to the bone to get the other side on. I'm beginning to believe emailing them and pointing out their biases and shortcomings just might be working.

24. Forgive me but..those that can AFFORD to buy cable
might watch Maher. The point is that it would be nice if Tweety would say those things on a network that the general public would likely see..see? Like, ma and pa down at the cattle auction in middle america etc.

In any case, it IS a good sign that Matthews is singing out finally. ;)

basic cable v. premium cable.

But I just meant Maher has more viewers than Hardball. According to this website I found, it's 1.8 million for Maher, 530,000 for Hardball.

I gladly accept your point. ;)

8. He said that!???
But... but... that sounds like he isn't in lock step. Are you sure that is the same Chris Matthews we see on Hardball each night?

He'd better get his attitude straight or someone might accuse him of being un-patriotic. They might tell him to go hang with the hippie-freaks over in the protest pen.

17. Repeat exactly what he says
I couldn't catch all of it because I couldn't believe my ears!!! He came out so directly and brilliantly.
I never expected Chris Mathews to come out so strongly against Bush

He phrased it in a way that I would like to be able to quote verbatim

He actually said that if you were undecided (and he can’t understand how people are)
Ask yourself these questions to make it more clear,

Which path do you want your country to follow for the next 20 years ??????

Do you want to be really alone in the world for the next 20 years????? Blair is on his way out we will really be alone….

Do you want to be behind in medical science advances for the next 20 years??????

Do you want somebody who will be very cautious and careful before sending us to war.... He said things like that but much much better and I would really like to get all of it word for word

So can you help me/us out?

21. Will you transcribe it, pleeaasee!?!
My jaw dropped open and I shouted a big hooray after he said all that. I'd love to have that handy!!!

He pisses me off sometimes because I think he allows blowhards like Drieir and Rohrbacher take over the discussion without reigning them in. (Then again, maybe that's because those two are also from California  ) But overall, he pulls out the points that need to be made and sums it up at the end.

I've seen him go after a couple of crazies like Coulter and Malkin...they never appear again after that!

His whole tone changed near the end of the convention. He is a Kerry supporter, I'm sure of it. He has been kicking RW ass lately.

25. My favorite line...
I hope there are riots in New York. It would be a healthy sign for our Democracy. Societies that have well organized, quiet and peaceful demonstrations are usually totallitarian states, like North Korea. And Disneyland.

28. Yeah, he did say that to....
I was in such shock that he was speaking his opinion so directly that I went into shock and couldn't remember everything that he said....

The protesting comments were priceless and way over the top...I hope that he doesn't get into trouble for them

The comment about Max Cleland at the WH and Laura yelling out the window that "Stem Cell research wouldn't help him either!" was positively naughty!

emailing him and expressing appreciation for what he said that you liked hearing....?

You can be sure he's getting crap from the RWers, so if you liked what he said, makes sense to let him know.

34. I loved it also! However...
Let's not forgot Chris has lobbied for a job as White House press secretary in the past.. maybe he's dropping the hint again, this time to the Kerry people.

He was great tonight. I think he was undoubtedly smacking back at GOP for trying to blackball him - Maher's show is the perfect place to make that statement. I regretted Bill's words about Malkin esp right after Chris left.

Great guests tonight. Good to see Ashley Banfield turn up.

when he wrote for SF papers, he was an antiwar democrat. When he appeared on a GE show, he thought Bush looked great in jeans.

Have it your way! Pay Tweety to sing today!
