What do you think are the a.) cruelest and b.)stupidest things Bush has done in his presidency. I narrowed it down to make it (slightly) easier to decide.

7. It's a 600-way tie!
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 06:43 PM by Lori Price CLG
Here is one that got little publicity, and it seems minor... but I could not *believe* when Bush gagged the Agriculture Department from discussing the news item that rocket fuel had contaminated eighty per cent of the lettuce supply in Colorado. The media whores should have been all over that one... like a duck on a June bug.

Oh, yeah. 'Shock And Awe.' Cruel, stupid, and worthy of a treason trial.

8. Hmm, were to start?
Disclaimer: IMHO a=b

Having said that, here's my top ten list:

1. Invading Iraq (a no-brainier)
2. Killing tens of thousands of innocent people (including almost 1000 US soldiers)
3. Starting the biggest terrorist-recruitment drive in history (Lucifer, eat your hart out)
3. The tax-cuts (this nation is heading for a fall - BIG TIME)
5. Destroying US standings around the globe (Americans are simply not welcome any were - go figure)
6. Making innocent people suffer for political reasons (as in fucking over dirt-poor Cubans relying on money from relatives in the US)
7. see no. 6 (as in fucking over dirt-poor African women exposed to HIV/AIDS because some third party NGOS gives them advise on family planning and abortion)
8. see no. 6 (as in fucking over sound science claiming global warming is a commie ploy)
8. see no. 6 (as in fucking over entire states just so his cronies could earn some slimy bucks on energy de-regulation)
9. see no. 6 (as in fucking over any honest, hard working elected officials who happened to disagree with him)
10. Flipping the bird to ordinary folks (24/7)

His biggest accomplishment; being the most hated man alive

23. Restored torturing thugs to power in Haiti, to rule over former victims.
Edited on Sun Aug-29-04 07:51 AM by lostnfound
That's the cruelest.
Think about it: a former slave colony fights for its freedom; suffers under horrible torture tactics of FRAPH; yet finally throws them off and has a democracy.

What does Bush do? Put the torturers back into power. What of the brave people who were witnesses and accusers against the Latortues and Chamblains of FRAPH? What's happening to them now?

24. The stupidest thing
was to run for president at all. This is a democracy, not a monarchy. An unqualified and obviously uninterested person has no business running for president just because of his name and the fact that his father was president.

The cruelest thing was Iraq and the worst consequences might be from his unilateral, pre-emptive war action. How do we know other countries won't do the same thing now?
